The City v Exeter scenario was very different.
Instead of having a private discussion with City, the Exeter chairman decided to voice the suggestion of receiving the full gate receipt publicly, almost painting City into a corner. He was quite rightly told to sod off.
This is Palace, presumably wanting to do it, just being a bit limp in how they achieve it. |

I would suggest that Palace simply go ahead and make the payment.
Very much doubt if the FA would do anything in the face of such strong public opinion. |

The other factor to bear in mind though is that at the time of the first bond, interest rates were on an upward trend, so the interest gap was going to close over the period of the investment.
This time around it is the opposite. Interest rates are on a downward trend so it may not look as attractive now, but this will improve over the duration of the investment. |
