Putting aside our two clubs rivalry I would like to complement you on a well written and fair post. Your assessment of Nigel's tenure is spot on and I'm sure the majority of Forest fans will know where you are coming from and are equally surprised by his departure at this time.
Similar insensitive sackings have been in abundance at the City Ground with O Driscoll being the most recent but the one that stands out for me that has similarlarities to Nigel is that of Paul Hart who's football' ethos' was the closest anyone has got to Cloughies.
I think your assessment of our players being thugs yesterday was probably clouded by the other events as on previuos and future encounters the 26 to 8 foul ratio could easily be reversed in any Forest v Derby fixture.!
