Eight men out is probably the greatest sporting film, baseball makes great movies. Fire in Babylon is a brilliant doc about West Indies cricket. Both Rocky and Raging Bull are brilliant. |

I loved the goal, I like the man, but all this love for Smyth is more than a little fickle. He is the most frustrating player in the club, of course he is fast and big hearted and he drives me regularly mad, just learn to cross for God's sake. Well done today lad, but let's not kid ourselves. |

Varane was immense today. I have no problem with an away performance like that, Bristol fans were certainly wound up at the end and we could have nicked it at the death. Good from Alfie too. I'll take that and have a beer. |

Add Paul Parker and Clive Wilson to that little list please. |

We have more points than we did that time last year, and this is a worse league than last year, so less points will be needed to stay up. We have loads of players to come back and we are getting better. Stop being so pessimistic. |

Which three teams will end up below us?. I'll go Plymouth, Portsmouth and Cardiff, but would love Luton. |

Understandably feeling better today than have for a long time, which may well colour what I am about to write. But were the summer signings really as bad as we've all been saying? Nardi is definitely an upgrade on last season. Saito is a lovely little player full of effort and guile Varane has started to come into his own as a commanding midfielder Morrison looks like a very decent centre half to me. Dembele, injured hard to tell Santos. Not very good. Madsen - Mixed bag obvious talent but not great application Celar is of course the tough one to call. Before last night useless, now??? Four or five positives out of that lot is not a bad total. Maybe our league position isn't just down to bad signings, maybe it does take time to gel. [Post edited 28 Nov 9:59]

My response to all these very understandable contributions is: we go again and again and again. It's in our blood, for many of us in our family story and you can't just shrug off your family. I will be there if we are playing on Paddington Rec, still shredding my nerves and just occasionally making my heart soar. I don't enjoy losing, but I would hate not being part of this club. My dad told me when he first took me 60 years ago that this was a life sentence. You can't leave jail just because you're not enjoying it. |
| Forum Reply | Dembele, Chair, JCS all “weeks away” at 20:17 7 Nov 2024
You're a long way away so fair enough, but supporting my team is not reliant upon them playing well, or being well run, it is unconditional, it is for life. If QPR were playing behind a rope in a league named after a local bookmakers I would be there. The idea that you won't go because we are rubbish makes you a fairweather fan, I'm sorry but that is the reality. I won't be at Leeds because I can't and I really wish I could, but every home game and as many away as I can make win lose or draw. That's what a supporter does. |

We play Hi Ho Silver Lining because it was Daphne's favourite song. Therefor it is sacrosanct. Though she must be turning right now. |

I'm not having Sunderland as a top club, are they really bigger than us? Both of us won one competition, they have a bigger fanbase, we have a more illustrious history, Europe and top flight finishes. We are as bigger if not bigger than Sunderland. They're just currently bigger than us. |

Is there a possibility we've been sold a ringer? How could this bloke have scored a bucketload of goals anywhere? Perhaps we got his brother or something, surely the Swiss league cannot be so poor that this charlatan was top scorer. i demand a DNA test. |

we defended well as a team, something we haven't done all season. And it was away to a top two team. Come on, take small pleasures, acknowledge improvement, accept that was a good point and we build from here. Or else you might as well not bother bothering |

Not good but much better than Saturday. Varane, Smyth, JCS, Saito all marked improvements, goal from a promising 18 year old, didn't lose. Cheer up. |

Never particularly got on with the little fellow but wouldn't want this to happen. Old school Notting Hill, hope he pulls through. |
