Perhaps Juve didn't move in on Aimar because he was under the age of 16, but the youngster was already in the Swans 'system' in season 2020/21 when he was 14 years old, actually making his debut from the bench at Bristol City in 28/4/21, three months short of his 15th birthday |

Whatever scouts Juve had in Cardiff I dare say their recruitment in Spain is far more developed and would have spotted Aimar in 2022 from this article in the Official site Swansea City Under-18s' midfielder Aimar Govea has been called up to Spain's Under-17 squad for their training camp in Alicante from December 12 to December 15. The 16-year-old has been named as part of Julen Guerrero's 26-man squad to travel to Alfaz del Pí for a four-day preparation camp as they look forward to the Uefa Under-17 European Championship, with the finals due to take place next year. Govea - who has already represented Ecuador at international youth level - making his debut against Argentina Under-17s back in October, was born in Spain. |

Whether the contract was not attractive enough to tempt Iwan Morgan to sign a pro contract or there were other circumstances, I dare say if he had stayed he would have been in and around the first team last season. |

Mark Allen didn't sign Lissah or Wilson or any of the Chelsea youngsters, that was down to the head of recruitment at the time Jack Chapman. As for Eze, he came to Landore on trial, amongst other clubs and wasn't rated. That's what happens in football, an academy can't sign everybody they trial and when some trialists when they arrive don't impress. Move on. |

If Jules was 24 we would be at the back of the queue whether we lose out on wages or a transfer fee. Even the foreign players mentioned are asking for wages more than what our budget dictates |

This is the market the Swans are in and we had better get used to it, but on the plus side a keen, late developer, eager to learn Lge 1 c/back who can play in a 3 or 4 back row, for a fee of around £350k I have no doubt will prove to be a better option than the money spent on a loan for Humphries last season. |

Mark Harris was that good at Cardiff he was given a free transfer. Anybody who watched him play for Oxford last week v Posh wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. |
![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | Forum Reply | Feels like 1930s at 18:53 15 Oct 2023
Absolutely very little comparison can be made with the present day and the 1930's. Families from the valleys moved to the likes of Slough and Luton in search of a job and were treated like shit by the locals. Can poverty in today's world be compared to the 30's, not really. Benefits abound in today's world while hand me down clothes were treated as Xmas presents when kids were fortunate. The fact of the matter is that the majority of people were in the same boat and the one vital aspect of todays' life - a lack of respect, was something that proud, poor Welsh families were respected for. Just imagine if our parents, grandparents were alive today I wonder what their thoughts would be regarding the inability of so many to be able, let alone cook a meal, and pay for somebody to deliver a meal to one's door. |

Two Swansea born players that are missing from the list. Ernie Morley - 28/2/1925 v England, 3 further caps whilst at Clapton Orient Frank Squires - War-time International 2 caps for Wales, 1942 and 1945/46(Victory Season) |

When fans become smitten with the 'charmer' that was Russell Martin, people like Duff who tells it as it is, plain speaking with no frills and who doesn't pander to the journos in front of him at press conferences, no doubt they are disappointed. But there again the bullshit world suits some. |

Carame did actually play for the U23's in season 2017/19, 2 sub appearances in PL Cup and one start in the PL International Cup( v Manchester United(away) competitions. |

Swans have one year options on the following - Nathan Wood, Liam Cullen and Brandon Cooper. |

Most probably it ties in that by the close of the window players like Piroe, Grimes etc. will have been sold and cash for Buchanan will be from that source, as all other transactions have been, never with their own cash. |

Rajkovic returned home because Sharpy and the club couldn’t afford to pay him what he was showed. The pitch was no different for most of County’s home games and it questions the attitude and make up of pampered PL footballers |
![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | Forum Reply | The real mechanics the Swans have to overcome to get Jamal Lewis at 12:56 24 Jul 2023
Can we really pay even half of Lewis's salary especially when one considers how much the salaries have been reduced at the club in the last two seasons. In my opinion Watson needs to revert to what made his name at Luton in identifying players on a salary that would not break the bank - Amari Bell is just one example. |
![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | Forum Reply | Duff all at 19:16 23 Jul 2023
Duff impressed many fans with the way he orchestrated his players through the Play Offs playing a brand of football that was nowhere near kicking the ball from back to front, but a terrier like team that could defend, make no stupid mistakes when the ball was passed between keeper and defender, competed at the breakdown and counter attacked with pace on either flank. There were no players like Grimes in their team, who on his day could pass a ball through the eye of a needle but less flamboyant midfielders in Herbie Kane stood out as a midfield grafter who could mix it and pass it on to a team mate while former Forest Green wide man Cadden knew what he had to do when they didn't have the ball and that is track back. Duff doesn't communicate like the 'charmer' Martin but the 'devil in the detail' is the backing he expects to receive from the boardroom. They will be carefully scrutinised as the weeks progress. All three players linked regarding new signings wont be back in the UK until 7 days time, not exactly perfect timing, but no doubts they are all above the quality that saw us sign Finley Burns, Okoflex, Stevens and Cundle in recent windows. |

It can be argued that the only head coach our owners actually signed was Russell Martin, or was Julian Winter the instigator? Jenkins brought in Potter after relegation and Birch was responsible for signing Cooper. |
