https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/may/31/10m-for-a-month-of-alexander-ar

This is a good article and puts the booing into context.

If you don’t want to read the entire article:

This is also why the booing matters. Booing at least makes sense, speaks to those old sustaining structures, the link to place, colours, family, something that is the opposite of pop-up moves and individualism as a Fifa sales technique

Joel Lynch on life at QPR
at 18:54 31 May 2025

I think this reflects very badly on Lynch. He’s essentially saying he knows he’s a limited player, was over paid and had zero ambition.

If Lynch is looking for a job post football he could narrate training videos for accountants.

‘Anyone else not renewed yet?’ - followed by reason why this particularly season was the final straw.

QPR Women
at 10:47 30 May 2025

Obviously most people don't, but the women's game is growing and as a professional football club we should be part of that.

What we should be doing for the women's team is learning from the London City Lionesses and using our resources/money to focus on women specific aspects of the game and not just trying to replicate the men's model.

Interestingly, QPR women's were the first London club to win the FA Cup.

Can't deny that was good, but to be fair, that was an anomaly!

He had a good attitude and was available when needed. Played through (another) transition period for the club and kept his chin up even when the club wanted to let him go.

Sadly, I thought he struggled on the pitch. It's a difficult position to play and there were many times at Loftus Road I found it hard to watch him being targeted by the opposition. Also, from memory, his corners were awful!

Anyway, I won't hold any of that against him and wish him all the best.

Anyone else not renewed yet?
at 15:00 27 May 2025

I’m on the DD so it’s automatically renewed. I’ve got two young children now so won’t make any mid-week games for the second season running. First child I gave up away games. Got use to that quickly. Since the second child I’ve had to cut back on the Saturday games (not been bothered about that) and all the mid-week games, which I’ve missed the most.

It’s tough, but it’s QPR and we all know the risks, haha

I was at the game and was surprised when he came on, completely forgot he was playing for them.

Not a great game, but was pleased the Dons won and great to see so many fans (about 28k) turn up. No doubt there were plenty of ‘neutrals’ like me, but still, it’s a far cry from the dark days of Selhurst Park.

Spurs v Man Utd Europa League Final

West Ham won Conference League...

The Europa League is just the re-branded UEFA cup, it's legit and it would be amazing if we won it!

It's my footballing dream to see QPR play in a European cup contest.

London clubs and us

Loved that Dunne goal!

How can we forget Bobby Z in the 89th, just before the buzzer!

Re: Palace, always found them to be a strange club, not much of an identity, however fair play to them and I hope their fans are really savouring the great feeling. It’s going to be us one day and I look forward to sharing the moment with my kids. You’ve got to believe!

Is it time to admit that Ultras are the way forward?
at 20:13 17 May 2025

I see why people think it’s cringe, but I also think fair play to them. They’ve stuck to it, contributed to a good atmosphere on a historical day and will now get to live their dream in Europe next season. It’s their day, let them have it.

About 27k. I think they have a lot of ‘fair weather’ fans that will come out of the woodwork. I think they draw support from Kent, but aren’t well supported West of Greenwich or further south in London. A bit like Palace, I don’t really get Charlton or their fans. Millwall I can see the appeal, much more of a community/family club and they’re in a much more lively and interesting area close enough to Peckham, New Cross and Deptford all of which have good places to eat and drink.

I’ve watched Charlton play many times and never really liked it, always thought it had a bit of an EDL vibe.

Fun fact for anyone interested in old London football stadiums - Charlton played one season in Catford at the Mount Stadium before moving back to the Valley when a proposed merger with Catford Southend was called off.

Why shouldn’t they boo him? At the moment Liverpool are one of the best clubs in Europe and he has moved to a rival club. All the points about him coming through the youth system etc just make it worse!

The most rediculous thing about all of this is that some seem to hold Liverpool fans in higher regard than other football fans!

I thought Varane was one of the standout players (for good reasons) of the last few games. I hope his good form continues onto next season.
