How can we forget Bobby Z in the 89th, just before the buzzer!
Re: Palace, always found them to be a strange club, not much of an identity, however fair play to them and I hope their fans are really savouring the great feeling. It’s going to be us one day and I look forward to sharing the moment with my kids. You’ve got to believe!
I see why people think it’s cringe, but I also think fair play to them. They’ve stuck to it, contributed to a good atmosphere on a historical day and will now get to live their dream in Europe next season. It’s their day, let them have it.
You have to pay for everything But some things are for free We live on blood We are Sparta FC English Chelsea fan this is your last game We're not Galatasary We're Sparta FC..
About 27k. I think they have a lot of ‘fair weather’ fans that will come out of the woodwork. I think they draw support from Kent, but aren’t well supported West of Greenwich or further south in London. A bit like Palace, I don’t really get Charlton or their fans. Millwall I can see the appeal, much more of a community/family club and they’re in a much more lively and interesting area close enough to Peckham, New Cross and Deptford all of which have good places to eat and drink.
I’ve watched Charlton play many times and never really liked it, always thought it had a bit of an EDL vibe.
Fun fact for anyone interested in old London football stadiums - Charlton played one season in Catford at the Mount Stadium before moving back to the Valley when a proposed merger with Catford Southend was called off.
Why shouldn’t they boo him? At the moment Liverpool are one of the best clubs in Europe and he has moved to a rival club. All the points about him coming through the youth system etc just make it worse!
The most rediculous thing about all of this is that some seem to hold Liverpool fans in higher regard than other football fans!
Indeed, our tiny island stood alone...with 2.5 million from the Indian subcontinent - the largest volunteer army in history (wiki), and the rest of the largest empire in history.
What do I think about VE Day? Remember the sacrifice and don’t glorify war. Over 1.5 million conscripts signed up to defend our country.
My great-grandfather was professional soldier and served during WW1. He shared many stories and observations about his experience with my Mum and Uncle before he died. One that was told and really stuck with me was how some of the conscripts struggled in combat. It really brought home that these were ordinary people and it was the same in WW2. In some ways, it may have been worse as the memory of WW1 was still fresh. Makes me feel proud, but also very sad.
I was on holiday for the notorious Leeds game and at Loftus Road for Burnley (I have the marks on my shins to prove it) - I'm f**king fuming about QPR at the moment. The new home kit better be good.
Ruben was probably f**ked off about the performance like the rest of us. Doesn’t he put in a million a month, or something like that, to prop up the club? I’m only putting in £45 a month and I was really f**ked off on Saturday, still am actually.
