In Portugal, newspapers are saying Swansea is interested in Aboubakar. So... Swansea allegedly doesn't have money to spend and goes after a player that won't be sold for less than 40M€? Good luck with that.

Again, scouting is absurd in this club. With 40M€, could buy 3 world class players.

Cheap suggestions:

Erik Palmer Brown from Kansas City (CD)
Fran Tudor from Hajduk Split (RB)

Anderson Esiti from Genk (MD) or Ramiro from Grémio (more expensive - 4M?)
Lovro Majer from NK Lokomotiva Zagreb (AM/CM)

Denis Alibec from Steaua (CF)
Dimitri Oberlin from RB Salzburgo (on loan Basel) (CF)
Lucca from Ponte Preta (LW)

In Italy there are rumours that Milan wants to put André Silva on loan for the rest of the season and that Everton is interested.

That's a great opportunity for Swansea, we're talking about the main striker of Portugal's national team and a great talent.

So I can't correct "proper" Swans fans when they are wrong? Ok.

Thanks for contributing with your constructive opinion to the thread, you're really adding to the discussion as you're friend did on the other thread.

And sorry if a random guy from Portugal supports your team, even though he has no ties with Wales or Swansea. Like that was a bad thing...

Eder had a great impact in Swansea, why don't you beg for him to come back? Maybe you should move Fabianski to FW, he has scored the same amount of goals Eder did.

WTF Sanches???

There's no such thing as "Sporting Lisbon" and I'm yet to understand what my club preference has anything to do with the fact he is a box-to-box and not the 10 you want him to be.

And no, i'm not a Sporting CP fan.

He is a box-to-box that needs a defensive midfielder that relieves him of the pressure of having to defend. This only happens while he doesn't grow as a player and learns to defend properly. This is why I believe Carlos will insist in a 4-3-3.

Don't count on him to be a 10, his skills don't match the profile of a 10. He has no criativity and his passing skills needed to be on point (which are not).

You're looking at it the wrong way. In the national team he was a rising star, we're talking about a player with great confidence that had shined in the team that won the championship and was picked to Euro 2016. He was in the top of his form.

Now we're talking about a player that was transfered to one of the best teams in football's history, regarded as one of the most promising talents in football by everyone. A player that earned a second division salary and has now a star salary. And a player that failed to impress, that had almost no time played in the german squad and sees himself in a positiong of having to impress and to carry a middle of the table Premier League team.

He was not ready for either of the moves.

Renato is not ready for the Premier League as he was not ready for Bayern as he was not ready to leave Benfica.

We're talking about a press overhyped player here in Portugal (our press hypes every single player they can from Benfica, but that's a long story and a even longer post) which had a very good half season in the first division. Yes, HALF A SEASON! The lack of good choices in Benfica's main team (specially due to injuries), and the good season he was having in the second league with Benfica B, made their manager try him in the main squad and he succeeded. He had a great second half of the season and was then chosen to be part of the Portuguese squad at the Euro 2016. The way we played created the right environment for Renato to shine: he didn't have to worry about defending as we had midfielders way to good at defending, allowing him to play free in front of them.

But it was all too fast and I bet Bayern quickly understood the error they made. He will be on loan to clubs in the Jorge Mendes spectrum (Valencia, Atletico, Wolves, etc..) and with some luck maybe he can still live up to his hype and turn his raw talent into something more. He has to work a lot and maybe he'll get there.

But he was not and is not what Swansea needs so we should do whatever we can to get rid of him, get some money back and replace him with a viable pick.

I've been following Swansea City from quite some time now and although I just comment on forums from time to time, it's sad to see what's happening after how far we've come (allow me the audacity of saying "we" even though Swansea is not and will never be my main club - which is FC Porto since I was born and until I die). I watch games everytime I can, and try to follow news and updates on at least a weekly basis.

Let me start by saying we have now (finally!) a decent coach. I've been following his career since he started having good seasons here in the second division (with Leixões) and I strongly believe he will be capable of avoiding relegation, even with the lack of talented players in the team.

I never understood Swansea's strategy when it comes to transfers. As a portuguese football fan, I must say we only hire shit from here! Nelson Oliveira, Renato Sanchez, Eder (lol!). There are lots of talented players out there, specially on the national league, and the scouting choices are just ridiculous. Then, we burn millions on a couple of players every season and surround them with below average choices for the rest of the positions. It's like that guy that lives in a falling shed but has a BMW parked outside. And I'm not even including in this argument the Renato's deal, which is a joke.

You don't have money to buy good ones? Get two or three good loans until you do! We need to invest in young, cheap players looking to chase the premier league dream at the same time. Bet on good players from portugal, croatia, serbia, etc. which are a low risk/high chance bet.

Carvalhal must be given two or three good pieces to allow him to at least stand a chance and make good things happen. And please don't burn 13M € on another bad choice, get some scouting staff ffs.
