End of Term Report 23/24 – Goalkeepers
at 21:41:59

I find all the demonisation of Begovic rather OTT. There were plenty of other players who were crap. I still hope QPR get another keeper though...

Tommy Smith on Warnock, Hughes and that promotion campaign - Interview
at 20:09:06

Fascinating interview, thanks Ron! Some great insights about Taarabt, Warnock, Hughes etc. I must investigate the archive of your other interviews. Tommy is a top man and I wish him well, whether it be in football (I hope) or elsewhere. What a time that promotion season was...

Five missed penalties in a row. Is that a record? Er... just wondering.. how come he's allowed to keep taking them?

Ramsey feels the heat as QPR lose at Birmingham - report
at 16:36:41

Of course getting someone with a record of managerial success (and I would question whether Hughes' overall record truly falls into that category anyway) doesn't guarantee future success. But I'd suggest it makes it more likely than if you appoint someone with no experience/success in such a role. What track record did CR have? Is the Championship a place for on-the-job learning how to be a football manager?

Ramsey feels the heat as QPR lose at Birmingham - report
at 20:34:36

If/when QPR get a new manager -- and it looks like it'll be sooner rather than later -- can we please get someone who has proven success as a manager? Not as a coach, not as somebody's No. 2, not someone who's been a good player -- but someone who has a record of managerial success.

Nutmegs, I prefer — column
at 18:50:16

Thanks very much for the piece. I wish Adel all the best and sincerely hope that one day he will realize his incredible potential (though I fear he won't). One of the most exciting players I've ever seen - at times he could play like a giant among pigmies. And at others he was a non-entity (or a negative factor). If only he could get his head together. Thanks for the memories, Adel. Don't look back in 20 years and regret you wasted such a fabulous talent.

QPR back Ferdinand’s plan with Ramsey risk — column
at 00:32:53

Your No. 4 "con" is decisive for me. LF and CR are both unproven in their current roles. It's a massive leap of faith to appoint Ramsey. I wish we'd got an ambitious young guy who's already had some managerial success in the English game. I hope Ramsey proves me wrong.

QPR hit for six as relegation is confirmed - report
at 20:41:41

I couldn't agree more with those who said it was an insult to QPR fans to bring on SWP for a round of applause from the home fans. What an absolute joke! It does indeed show how utterly out of touch Ramsey is with his own team's supporters, as well as calling into question not only his fitness for the job but also his objective judgement of a player and what he can contribute -- in SWP's case, zero. Talking of zeroes, this should be a "Year Zero" moment where QPR wipes the slate clean (or at least tries to). I fail to see what proven achievements Ferdinand and Ramsey have to suggest they'll be successful in their current roles. Maybe they will be but maybe they won't. Quite apart from the inevitable (and necessary) player clearout, QPR should go for a manager with proven success at first-team level. And let's sign hungry, committed players for whom QPR is a step up, not a step down into lucrative semi-retirement.

Myths, scapegoats and excuses - Redknapp
at 20:20:44

Why the apparent rush to appoint Sherwood? No disrespect to him but what what has he ever achieved as a manager? At 45 he's not exactly a spring chicken, is he? Hardly another Eddie Howe (and in my view these are the kind if people QPR should be looking at). Rather than a panic appointment now, let's soldier on till the end of the season, bite the bullet if relegation comes, and appoint a young, ambitious guy (with a record of success behind him) who can play a part in building a long-term structure from the ground up, and who won't sign washed-up players looking for a last pay-day i.e. the complete opposite of the Redknapp era (not a dig at him but just an observation).
