Another problem with never knowing what is preventing us from seeing our favourite players, is that people speculate. And when they speculate, the speculation is (probably) far worse than the truth, and damaging to the reputation of the players and the club. If it’s Chair, we yet again get the suggestion that he has community service to complete. It just perpetuates the worst possible news. Keep it alive and you’ll keep getting the ‘jokes’ about keeping chair away from rocks, stones etc. And on and on, damaging for the player and the club. For Obikwu, I’ve twice seen suggestions that he's not injured, he’s failed a drugs test. These are PR disasters, and so easy to avoid. |

Sure, cycling Ben has to go. That was evident as soon as we knew we’d be sacking off the first ten fixtures so that we’d hit peak fitness in may, or hiding behind the great availability of the under 10s team, or the 100 non-contact injuries… But you did say none of this is on the manager and I disagree. If he isn’t allowed to make a single meaningful decision, he is at least (only?) responsible for the team mentality, surely? |

Did he pick saito and esquidinho on the same flank in a recent game, did he let field go on loan, is he choosing the formation? We don’t know how much he is told to do. But if he’s not picking the team or the formation, what should he be doing? Surely he should be ensuring the attitude is right, motivating the team. Players, one of whom has been absolutely dreadful for months, laughing after coming off at 0-4…FFS! He’s definitely partly responsible or what is he being paid for? |

How many times? It’s planned. They are saving themselves for the sprint finish. They’ll be unbeatable in June as they power along the Champs- Élysées |

If we make the play-offs without loaning players in, there’s cause for congratulation. Slip steadily down the league as our players tire and continue to get injured, and not so much. |

I remember, in 1980(?), Charlton being questioned about the style of football his Sheff Wed team adopted to win 2-0 at Loftus Road. He replied, ‘It’s not my job to entertain your fans’ |

Selfishly bumping this so I can find it more easily as I make my way through the recommendations. So far, I’d rank them: A Real Pain Promising Young Woman We Live in Time One Battle after Another Anatomy of a Fall Hallow Road State of Grace The Running Man Sisu And I’d recommend Truth and Treason [Post edited 3 Jan 19:12]

Can someone with better football knowledge than me please explain why we always seem to play inverted wingers these days? What is the benefit we gain from losing the benefits of a quick delivery or a cross from the byline? I can only assume it’s to make sure that they can use their stronger feet when playing back to the keeper. [Post edited 3 Jan 15:48]

I’d leave two players up at the half way line, one on each wing to make defending tricky. Two defenders back marking them would still leave one on one situations, even if they leave a third back in the middle Choose the players least useful when defending corners. Might not include Burrell but you could still be choosing from Dembele, Smyth, Nardi and Saito… |

In the second half, players are getting tired, the game is opening up and…we bring on Frey. You really don’t have an issue with that? |
 | Forum Reply | QPR supporting family....since 1882...anyone knows? at 07:27 22 Sep 2025
My first granddaughter is due in December, and as my daughter has converted her partner into an R, we are confident the new arrival will be a hoop too. Chatting to my dad (89) recently, he told me that his dad and grandfather were Rangers fans. Dad grew up in Fifth Avenue, a two minute walk from Droop Street. I have been happily thinking that this might take the family support back to when the club was founded but thinking about it now, my great grandfather probably wouldn’t have been born quite early enough to have been a day one supporter. I’ll have to find out when he was born. And check whether there is any evidence of my great great grandparents being fans. Even without them, we are up to five generations, going on six. |

Don’t know that tune. I read it but just hear the smiths girlfriend in a coma. “Madsen in the middle, I know, I know, we’re playing with ten again” |

He’s old and hasn’t trained properly for months. We can’t possibly bring him back. It would be too embarrassing when he proves to be the club’s fittest player. |
