Cheers for the replies guys, thought it wasn't right that the gaiter just pulls off and the drive shaft slides back and forth a few inches. |

The play was from left to right as in between the to cv joints rather than up and down if that makes any difference, is that normal because the other side doesn't move at all. The gator itself looks new but there's no clip to fasten it on and as a result its come off spilling grease everywhere. I won't name the garage but Iv'e not used them before, it was in cross hands.
It moves a god 3-4 inches back and forth. [Post edited 12 Aug 2018 21:01]

Could really do with some advice from someone with a bit more mechanical knowledge than myself please.
Over the last week or so I've had a gradually increasing ticking/knocking sound coming from what sounds like the front right wheel. It only does it when i corner at high speed such as a wide bend in the road or a large roundabout. Nothing going straight or pulling out of junctions etc.
My instant thought was the C.V joint from previous experiences and speaking to others. I booked the car in to have what I thought was the shaft and joint replaced as this was advised. The car was kept in over the weekend as they struggled to get the correct one to fit so I was told. Went and picked the car up today and paid 250 for the job. As I drove it home I soon realised to car was still making the exact same noise as before. Once I got home I put the car up on ramps to inspect it and for my father to have a look. We have now discovered that the gator was not correctly fitted and there is excess grease everywhere and what I believe to be the drive shaft is very loose when I move it back and forth as in in and out from the wheel itself, the other side is solid with no play at all so this doesn't seem right to me.
Any advise on this would be much appreciated guys! p.s it's a 10 plate fiat punto evo. |

The most sensible post yet, What many of you fail to realise is that the poor person serving you DOES NOT make these rules, however in order to keep their job they must follow them. So next time you decide to go on a rant at them because you cant buy a goldfish for your tiny bowl in the windowsill with no filter etc try seeing it from their perspective. |

I know all to well about this topic sadly. My mother was rushed to cardiff to have a brain tumor removed in the last few years (after being miss diagnosed as vertigo). Following a successful removal of the tumor they discovered she had breast cancer and went for a mastectomy. Sadly following this she required a hysterectomy as they found cancer there too.
On a brighter note she is now cancer free and happy as larry! but for the last 2-3 years shes been through it all in fairness, so anyone that is effected by this vile disease has my full sympathy!
Keep fighting. |

this 100%, for all those moaning that tonight isn't the night to make our point, I see no reason why we cant get behind the boys whilst also sparing a minute or 2 to let the t*ats know they aren't wanted here. Either way it's making noise/atmosphere. |

Maybe someone at the game can give us a better idea but from the radio it sounded like he had a solid game against top Championship opposition, It's nice to have a local lad back in and around the first team. Hope he is given more of a chance going forward as he cant be any worse than Naughton this season. |

I genuinely don't understand why grown men get so easily offended on here and retaliate so easily? I far from agree with a lot that is said on here but I accept that people have varying opinions, given whats going on with the club at this moment in time can we not at least try and leave the sly digs etc to one side at least until the club is back on some sort of track?
I won't hold my breath. |

Surely in an ideal world we can have fresh input into the trust with a major shake up happening. On the other hand a less official independent ISG that can work alongside a refreshed trust can only be a good thing? An ISG can organise things that the trust are unable to.
Hope this makes some sort of sense, for me personally this would be an ideal outcome but I just want whats best for my club, however it can be achieved. |
