Dale have been granted a massive boost with the return of loan player David Ball to Spotland on loan until January from Peterborough United.

Whispers had been doing the rounds this week linking Ball witha  return to Rochdale after his appearance in the away end at Deepdale at the weekend, and despite reported competition from Preston, Yeovil and Aberdeen, he was happy to rejoin Dale on loan until January.

Ball had a massive impact on the side during his first spell, helping himself to four goals in eight games, in which Dale picked up their first three league wins of the season. Even in just a watching capacity, he was there on Saturday when Dale picked up their fourth win at Preston.

It's expected that he'll go straight into the starting line up for this weekend's game with Brentford.
