Duo can go - Warnock
Duo can go - Warnock

Neil Warnock has revealed that he is considering offers for Billy Paynter and Andy O'Brien.

The loveable Paynter, who has become the butt of good humour from the Leeds fans is described as being "a little bit tight" by Warnock and doubtful for tomorrows trip to Torquay, is subject to interest from an unnamed club.

Despite a glut of goals for Swindon in League One, including a memorable Elland Road hat trick has fallen short at Championship level. Simon Grayson was initially reluctant to loan him to Brighton last season just in case Billy found his shooting boots, he neednt have worried as Billy played ten times without a single goal for the Seagulls.

Despite bagging a brace in Warnock's only Elland Rd win to date, the 4-1 drubbing of Peterborough, Warnock considers him to be a bit too much like Luciano Becchio. I think he means he is more of a target man because Becchio has a decent goals ratio!

O'Brien, 33, has been told he can find a new club. He started off reasonably steady having joined the club he supported as a boy from Portsmouth. However after a poor start to last season, he was one of the many Simon Grayson players who seemed to vanish off the face of the earth before returning having almost been forgotten by the fans.

O'Brien apparently refused to play at Burnley in November, because he "was not in the right frame of mind". This drew scathing criticism from both Simon Grayson and initially Ken Bates, however Bates somewhat changed his tact and offered his full support to O'Brien when it was revealed he had depression. Following Gary Speed's untimely death, this was particularly poignant.

Most fans will agree that neither have a future at ER and the sooner they move on, the better, with or good wishes of course!

Poor Andy didn't really get a chance. He just never got to his best in fitness etc. If he had been supported a little earlier he may have got on his feet and provided the strenght at the back. Unfortunately, he was not supported by mega talent round him and he made some mistakes, which may have been a confidence thing. Good luck Andy
