O'Grady to Dale in cash deal?
O'Grady to Dale in cash deal?

There are reports from Oldham that on loan striker Chris O'Grady is on his way to Spotland in a cash deal, going against previous stories that they were looking for a return to Boundary Park.

It had been suggested by Oldham manager Dave Penney that they were looking for O'Grady to head back to Oldham when his loan deal finished on 16th January, following our home game with Port Vale.

But in an about turn, the Oldham Chronicle has reported that Oldham are looking to cash in on our interest in Chris O'Grady to use the money to fund a bid for their own on loan striker Paul Heffernan.

Heffernan is currently at Boundary Park on loan from Doncaster Rovers, and Penney has been impressed by the former Notts County frontman. Rovers are keen to recoup some of the £125,000 they paid Bristol City for his services, and this is where our bid for O'Grady comes in.

Rumours were rife at the weekend of an announcement due to be made at the Rotherham game regarding the future of O'Grady.
