Weston Super Mare 1 Swansea City 3

Ratings by JJJack

GK - Oakes 6, little to do. Very audible.Which always helps... RB- KOL 6 Looked uncomfortable at times, lacked pace, not a RB IMO LB- Williams 5, Gave the frre kick away leading to their goal. One of his annoying, red-mist days. CH- Watt 6, Strong in the air, subbed at h-time.Gus Poyet lurked ominously on the touch-line. CH- Austin 6 Usual stuff LM - Trundle 8 Played v deep and wide left in 1st half.Did ok. Moved up front in 2nd half and was far more effective. RM - Britton 7 Good, solid, tenacious performance.Subbed at h-time CM - Pratley 6 Went through motions today.Class showed in 2nd half CM - Boland 7 V quiet 1st half, but good enough in 2nd half to suggest he may have a future here CF - Bayo 7 , V cute finish, good distribution.Looked slimmer. But not much.Went off injured, not sure how bad? CF - Knight - 6 Strangely, played up front( as opposed to Left wing) instead of Trundle. Another who merely went thro motions. Subbed at h-time Subs: MacDonald 7 - replaced Britton and was very tenacious.Went close on a couple of occasions.Gets better with each performance McLeod - 8 , Went past the full-back repeatedly and put some delicious crosses in which deserved better than they got. Monk - 7, Brought much needed calm to back 4 when replaced Watt at h-time Fallon - 6 , Height caused W-S-M problems. But far from great. Tate, Izzy, - quiet last 15mins for them. Amusingly the P.A. announed that Willy had come on rather than Izzy, Appeared that he said this because he couldn't pronounce Irikpen, so gave up and said "Willy Gurrett" . Overall - good 1st 20mins when we should have scored at least twice, Bayo hitting the post. Dreadful next 20 til we eventually equakised on half-time. 2nd half - Much, much better. Class finally prevailed. We hit the woodwork on several occasions and their keeper made some great saves.Probably should have scored 4 or 5. McLeod, Trundle and the return of Leon Britton were the highlights for me.
