Ferrie Bodde was all for playing down his role as the team's top goalscorer after finding the target against Ipswich again

I guess there are not too many Swansea City fans who placed money at the start of the season on Ferrie Bodde being the top goalscorer at the club.

But almost a quarter of the way into the season and the Dutch midfielder has five goals to his name and shows no sign of stopping the goalscoring fun.

Goals against Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Burnley, Preston and Ipswich have taken his tally to a handful already and well on the way to beat last season's tally of seven as the Swans won the League One title.

Speaking to the Western Mail, the summer target for Derby said “I’m happy that I scored, but it doesn’t matter who is on the end of it,

“If it’s somebody else, no problem. As a midfielder, you’ve still got to score goals, so obviously I’m pleased.

“But if I’d scored no goals and we were top of the league, I’d still be very happy. And at Ipswich, the main thing was that after I’d scored, we started to play better.

“The opportunity was there to take all three points, and we can feel unlucky that we didn’t,” he said.

“Ipswich didn’t know what to do with us – I could see it on their faces.

“Before the goal went in, we felt strong. They gambled in the last 10 minutes and it paid off, but that’s football.

“But if we play like we did in the second half, we will win a lot of games.

“We will look at QPR as the chance to get another three points,” said Bodde.

“We know what we want from these two games – as many points as possible.

“Two wins and a draw is good form and I hope we can keep it up.”
