![]() Tuesday, 5th Jan 2016 22:16 by pompey-fans.com staff It's not been a bad week - or year in fact - for Pompey fans so far, with a win over Crawley followed by news that Marc McNulty and Matt Clarke are staying for the season. And now there's been more good news - skipper Michael Doyle has signed a year's extension to his contract, keeping him at Fratton until the end of the 16-17 season. Doyle told club website: 'I’m delighted to have signed a new contract because I’m very happy here at Pompey. I’ve enjoyed working with a great bunch of players and staff in the first half of the season and am looking forward to what’s ahead. 'Everyone here is putting in a lot of effort to bring success to this club and it’s an extremely professional environment to be a part of. Hopefully we can do better in the second half of the season and we’re all fully focused on trying to win promotion.' Clarke was equally happy with the news that he was here for a longer spell, telling The News: ‘I’m delighted because I’m happy here and looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings. I’ve come a long way from my earlier games and I’ll only get better playing alongside the guys at Pompey.’ McNulty's loan extension was announced on Monday, the same day another forward, Jayden Stockley, ended his stay by returning to Bournemouth.
