Holness signs on free transfer
Holness signs on free transfer

Following the summer acquisition of Kallum Higginbotham, we have continued to plunder the gems coming through the ranks at Boundary Park with the signing of on loan defender Marcus Holness.

The defender has been on loan at Spotland since the start of October, and has looked to be a useful recruit during that time. He's been played mostly as support following injuries and suspensions to the likes of Stanton and McArdle, but he's certainly not let anyone down so far.

The 19 year defender came to Spotland following a loan spell at Ossett Town (where he forgot he played in the FA Cup), and has since made ten appearances for Dale.

He has signed a contract which will keep him at Spotland until the end of the 2009-10 season. Although no fee was paid to Oldham for his services, they have insisted on a sell on clause.
