Rochdaleafc.com try not to tempt the will of the Weather Gods whilst we look at what Spotland might be copping for, weather wise, over the next few days.

Never mind bury or Burnley or Halifax… It’s the bloody weather that’s our biggest rivals this season as we once again saw a match postponed on Tuesday night.

But whilst the frost set in last week without a cloud in the sky, it seems, that as the frost is no longer a problem, the rain might once again trouble us.

Now at the moment I understand the reason why drainage is an issue is because the top four inches of the Spotland turf is pretty much compressed mud, solid sludge, or whatever else you like to call it… making it extremely difficult for the pitch to absorb any of the rain.

And unfortunately for us, it seems that the rain albeit on and off at the moment, is well and truly in until the start of next week.

So until we hear anything from club sources on the matter, it seems we’ll all have to cross our fingers or start doing sun dances and hope that this game manages to survive the weather.
