Tomas Rosicky Signs On
Tomas Rosicky Signs On
Tuesday, 5th Jan 2010 12:16

The classy Czech has been given a new contract despite only starting seven games in the last two seasons.

Rosicky is a fantastic player when fit, providing the oil to our engine that Robert Pires once did, but he has seemingly incurable injury proneness. Giving him a new contract is not the worse decision ever made, particularly as its length has not been disclosed and it does prevent him from discussing a new deal with other clubs this month, but the club do seem to have been generous.

We can only presume that the relevant medical checks have been made and that suitable clauses have been included in the contract that won’t leave us out of pocket should his injury problems continue. Rosicky has spoken of his intention to repay the club’s belief in him:

“The last two seasons haven’t been easy for me because of injuries but I feel it speaks volumes about the Club’s belief in me for this to be signed, and I truly believe I have a lot left to offer the Club, my team-mates and all the supporters.â€?

Every Arsenal fan hopes he can enjoy an injury free run but he is an extremely lucky man and there are very few companies that would still renew your contract if you took as many sick days as Rosicky, no matter how good you were.
