News Stories for Frank Nouble

Oldham Vs U's - Durham's Preview Fri 21st Sep 2018
JM takes his high-flying (deservedly so) charges to Boundary Park (also now known as the SportsDirect.comPark) on Saturday for a challenging and important League Two fixture. So far this season I have been to Notts County, Mansfield and Tranmere, on paper all challenging games. All three resulted in draws and with the well-earned win at Cheltenham, we can certainly approach this game in good spirits.
Tranmere 1 U's 1 - Durham's View Mon 10th Sep 2018
My third away match this season and another draw, but a point was the least that we deserved. Now I have previously ranted about the traffic conditions on the A1/M1 earlier this season when travelling to Nottingham and Mansfield but yesterday it was the sleepy market town of Kirkby Stephen that cost me a one-hour delay after the closure of the A66 due to essential repairs and maintenance. This meant that with further delays through Aintree my son and I arrived almost 30 minutes late for the game.
Cheltenham Vs U's - Durham's Preview Fri 31st Aug 2018
John McGreal takes his charges to the Jonny Rocks Stadium for the second time this season to play Cheltenham Town. Things have changed for the Gloucestershire club since that Carabao Cup match with a new manager since Gary Johnson’s sacking. Russ Milton is the caretaker boss and he has added to his ranks with 32-year-old striker Tyrone Barnett on loan from Port Vale. Cheltenham also picked up a useful victory at Cambridge last weekend. All of which proves that any team can defeat any other in league two this season.
U's Vs Northampton - Durham's Preview Fri 24th Aug 2018
After the Super U’s sensational performance and deserved result against Crewe on Tuesday evening, JM and his players prepare to welcome Northampton Town to the JobServe Stadium on Saturday.
Mansfield 1 U's 1 - Durham's View Sun 19th Aug 2018
Driving to Nottingham from Durham is not to be recommended on a Saturday at the present time. First the journey to Notts County cost me an extra hour because of congestion. Yesterday I had a lunch engagement with Gerry at the Pizza Hut prior to the game and consequently set off at 1020hrs, anticipating some delay but I did not arrive at the stadium until 2pm. The A1 in North Yorkshire and at Barnsdale Bar and then the section of the M1 after the M18 were all traffic blackspots with delays, minor accidents and frankly poor lane discipline all conspired to make me miss my Pizza Hut meal! (Other restaurants are available).
Mansfield Vs U's - Durham's Preview Fri 17th Aug 2018
After a dose of reality at the Jonny-Rocks stadium on Tuesday evening in the Carabao Cup (8 successive defeats now in the League Cup) JM takes his charges to the One Call Stadium Mansfield on Saturday to do battle with David Flitcroft and Ben Futcher’s side.
U's Vs Port Vale - Durham's Preview Sat 11th Aug 2018
John McGreal will start his charges in their first home encounter against Port Vale at the newly sponsored JobServe stadium following an excellent performance and draw at Notts County on the opening day.
Notts County 0 U's 0 - Durham's View Mon 06th Aug 2018
Colchester United started their third consecutive season in the basement league at Meadow Lane Nottingham on Saturday against one of the favourites for promotion, with a record of nine defeats in the last ten matches against Kevin Nolan’s team.
Notts County Vs U's - Durham's Preview Sat 04th Aug 2018
The fixture computer has once again been unkind towards Colchester United, as we once again start and finish with Away matches and this season we begin at Meadow Lane against Notts County on August 4th, 2018 and finish at Sincil Bank against Lincoln City on May 4th, 2019.
U's 0 Ipswich 3 - Noah's View Thu 24th Jul 2014
It was a puzzling U's performance in more ways than one. We met more newcomers than I recall on my first day at senior school all kitted out with numbered shirts with no names. Are we saving on kit purchase costs? Despite the pre-match public address announcements it certainly didn't look like Sanchez Watt wearing number 7 and Darren Ambrose's surprise appearance in that shirt didn't disappoint, albeit that a bewildered South Stand were mystified who it was until a helpful Ipswich Fan (here, I confess, he is a pal of mine) amid our ranks offered clarity. The former Palace, Brum and Town veteran (but still only 30) linked well with Sears and the outstanding Dominic Vose as the U's dominated much of the first half and for 45' we looked like the higher ranked side. Our Tractor Boy guest shuffled nervously in his seat whilst he chewed on a carrot top as an upset did look distinctly on the cards. Relax, we said, "it's only a friendly" but the smell of silage as Holman narrowly shot wide defined the half.
