Far too close for comfort against Stoke Reserves. Had the game sewn up and messed it up again as per the Leicester game. Looked so weak upfront especially in the second half. Build up slow and laboured. Mistakes at the back again. Ugochukwu, Cornet, Onuachu and Dulemana did nothing to break into first team reckoning. Goodness knows who plays upfront on Saturday. No one impressed tonight.

Predictable performance from Saints: backwards and sideways passee and no penetration. Relying on a great keeper and defenders to score goals means the manager hasn't got a clue. A likely Championship team against a poor Championship team.

We were well organised, well coached and well motivated. This squad could pass sideways and backwards and play tippy tappy during a nuclear first strike as they are that motivated by our top coach Russell Martin.

I wouldn't say that he keeps changing things up too much as he hasn't a clue about what his best eleven are, but maybe he could get them to shake hands before the match to help them get to know each other a little, or maybe have their names on the front of their shirts..

Had a different seat to my usual one so saw the game in a different light. Couldn't understand why Aribo was so close to Armstrong and Fernandes so close to Fraser. That Ugochukwu in the middle on his own surrounded by at least 4 Stoke players. Why hasn't Cornet played? He looks to have pace.
As for the subs well I was totally lost at that point! Thought it was 3 at the back but then noticed Ugochukwu helping out. Why O Why was Tall Paul brought on he offered nothing and that is being generous!
Yes we dominated but there was no final result. Fortunate to go through I think.

Us endlessly passing in front of a packed defence really does seem like a waste of time.

After completely dominating for 44 minutes, it took an heroic goal line clearance from Sugar to save this game and possibly Martin's job.

The substitutions just seemed chaotic.

Well done James Bree for repeating history for getting a last minute winner in this competition.

Looking at the average rating for Archer he’s got more rating points than he had touches and most of his touches were miscontrolling the ball or hitting it straight into touch
I think Archer is fighting Brereton Diaz for the Guido Carrillo award

At least it was a chance for some of the donkeys we bought in the summer to have a trot out on the pitch.
