PSA blood test, but you're to young at moment, I had it done last year, came back 1 and 1, apparently Im 99% certain not to get it, so my Doc said. Big relief has its been in my family. | |

One of the biggest mysteries of the Universe is why men are so embarrassed about their bodies.
The British still seem to have a Benny Hill attitude to intimate areas of the body.
Finger up the arse seems to still make some chuckle but I tell you what -if you have symtoms get it done immediately. I ve had scares with both bowel and prostate but am OK but we all need to get to the doctors.
Its not a subject to get any humour at all out of as its deadly but is well treatable if you get it early |  |

Just Prostate, I'm afraid notsure there is such a test to be honest, although a regular blood test, will show a blood count of red and white blood cells and Doctors can tell from that if there's a problem, most cancers are detectable, the most difficult to detect and one of the deadliest is Pancreatic. | |

What makes you white if both parents are white?
Your genes.
Unfortunately for black people, and in this case men, they are more vulnerable to certain cancers as a result of their genes. Believe it or not, the Earth has not always had 6 billion people living on it and at one time the genepool was significantly smaller to the point where certain genes that were vulnerable to certain diseases etc were shared.
So there you have it - nothing racist to it.
For another example, the British Bulldog is prone to eye defects (blindness) and severe arthritis, whereas others aren't as vulnerable.

I've suffered with prostate pain for 10 years, G.P and Urologists can't /won't do anything about it. Extremely uncomfortable and gets me down, but I am grateful that I have not been diagnosed with cancer.
Everyone should support this cause to raise awareness.

Found out that mine was enlarged recently, was told that 50% of males around their late 40s onwards have enlarged prostate. |  | | |

Haven't spoken to anyone on here about this before, but i've been a bit quiet of late on the site (as Darran pointed out when I made a posting he was critical of recently). Anyway, it wasn't prostate Cancer but Bladder Cancer, and i'm sure you've all seen the posters in the khazi at the Liberty regarding even a single incident of blood in your urine being a possibility of either bladder or liver Cancer. Some months ago I woke middle of the night and went to watch the tele downstairs. After a while I popped to the downstairs loo for a pee and instead of urine out popped some pure blood.............having seen the aforementioned posters I phoned my doc next morning (Monday).....in fairness, he had me up the surgery straight away and ran blood and urine tests, I also had the proverbial finger up my arris just in case......all negative. Next he sent me for a Endoscopy up the old Oofy-doofy (ok, dick - ouch!), after which a very young doc (to me anyway) sat me down and told me I had a growth in the bladder, I was stunned but had at least been seen promptly...............I was told that it wasn't immediately life threatening but would have to be removed and my cancer nurse said "you never know, it might not even be cancerous, though the odds of that are only 1 or 2%".........................had the op on 17th December and consultant came around afterwards and said again, not life threatening but again stated the odds of it not being cancer.....anyway, upshot was that after Xmas I found that I was one of the lucky 1 or 2%.......I was stunned and extremely relieved to say the least. I have thought about writing to the club to congratulate them for putting health posters before advertising profit in the Gents Loos, and will end this by saying to all the men/Jacks out there..........For fecks sake don't ignore your body, don't be shy about it, being scared to find out, or shy about asking, will kill you, and take note of those posters on the toilet walls...............they just might save your life!!
