To be fair, the OS did state last week that paper tickets would be issued for this game.

http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/rotherham-tickets-1837446.aspx

Aha. Very good. It does rather beg the question over why they aren't being loaded onto the cards though. Maybe the system couldn't cope with loading cards and sending out tickets for non members, or loading the cards with multiple tickets ... scenarios you'd have expected would have been covered in the system requirements and testing ...

Ah thank you, I missed that one

Still not sure why unless of course the system isn't working....surely not

The chap who was scanning at door 12 didn't have any issue whatsoever with the scanner. He was able to do it first time no problem.

To me that is the problem 'the chap who was scanning ' then pushing a pedal to allow the turnstile to be opened.

I see no advantage bar this stopping people reusing their tickets.

Complete waste of money unless it can be adapted to be able to scan and gain automatic entry.

My guess is that it would be loaded to the ST if it was for your original seat.

As only 2 stands open this can't be the case.

Out of interest, was there an option to print at home?

Did think Premier seats. I take it they just show their cards?

I wonder how many of the 18578 were ok first swipe.

I got in first scan, no problem at all.
Also, how can people pass their tickets back?

Poll: Where will we finish?

But JA cards aren't seat specific are they? Just thought this was one of the things the new sooperdupersystem should have been able to cope with.

Under the old system I'd have thought very easily.

You could just be having a laugh and joke with your mate next in the queue and pass your ST to him.

What worries me about the ticket being loaded onto the JA cards is people will not bother to print out a confirmation and then have no idea when they get to the stadium which seat they are supposed to be sitting in

Well I received tickets for what it's worth, which was a bit of a surprise given what were told about loading the cards.

Tomorrow is entry by ticket only

We are the first Welsh club to reach the Premier League Simples

That's a very good point. Must admit I'm struggling with the purpose of the JA cards.

As I posted on the other post about scanning problems yesterday, i actually watched Premier guests scanning in their cards. Therefore that wasn't the cause of the difference between attendance and those scanned

Have you ever used a scanner? Like a cheap one? When you've got to get the angle correct.. etc.. yep? It's one of them

Like those ones in Tescos Llansamlet when you do Scan As You Shop? Quite a few times I've had problems with certain items in there

I still haven't even received my JA card, though I got my ST weeks ago. I called them about it last week and apparently not all have been sent yet (they've run out of letters to send them with was their reason!?) ..... So that's probably why this game is all ticket

Think the club missed a trick here.

I would have entitled this: Control Update (for) New Ticketing System.

The other thing the club missed a trick on is writing that statement as an acrostic. What is an acrostic? An acrostic is a form of writing where the first word of each sentence spells out another word or message. They can be really effective when used with subtlety. So have a go and see what you could do...

The premier club didn't get scanned (or at least the ones that I asked about it didn't) - just had their cards to show and their lanyards.

One of the reasons for counting attendance is H&S. e.g if 20,500 in the ground. Then if there was a fire or whatever, the emergency services would be able to account for everybody and know how many were missing. If any are excluded from this (including staff) then it can lead to tragic results.
Therefore I doubt it likely that Premier customers allowed to just walk in and show their cards

How did we have a safety certificate for the last 8 years then given that that's all that happened round the rest of the ground.

You're wrong about the H&S bit mate. Even if everyone had to scan in, people leave at all points through the game without scanning out. In the event of an emergency, there will be marshalls allocated areas to sweep through to ensure everyone is out of that area.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.
