The Official Southampton v Swansea City Matchday Thread on 12:55 - Feb 1 by hammy | Both Wanyama and Schneiderlin will be missing, so give us a chance to keep the ball in midfield. A good solid performance and a draw would be very good; a win would be excellent. If we lose 3-0 then we're out of the top 10 (for the first time this season ?). Any sort of win and we're back to 9th and within spitting distance of Wet Spam. We can still have a good end of season if we start playing our game again and would like to see us break through the 50 point target. |
Wanyama was the difference between the sides at the Liberty when he came on. It's not that he's a particularly great midfielder, it's just that we can never seem to handle physical players - Wanyama, Carroll, Yakubu, Holt, Fellaini, etc. It's a big boost that he's out.

Yep should give us a good chance to counter our shortages Would love to get some points but was not too disappointed when we lost 2-0 last year and their manager said we were by far the best team on the pitch. Funny enough they were 4th then. So a classy loss would not be too much of a disappointment especially as you say if we seem to be back on our game. I had said only Stoke could overtake us (as they have) because I could not expect Newcastle to end up improving their goal difference on us by 5 goals. However I think if we lose 2-0 will probably be shown as 11th alphabetically. So COYS

Fabianski Naughton Williams Fernandes Taylor Britton Carroll Routs Shelvey Montero The Tw@ I put up this more out of availability than preference as I' m not sure who's fit/eligible.
