New Kit Suppliers 18:12 - Mar 9 with 3709 viewsflyerdale

I believe the current deal with Fila/JD Sports ends this season, any whispers about if we have signed a new deal or who is taking over?

No confirmation of who will supply the kit, but details about the design process came out as the result of a question from supporters via the Trust:

"Question 5
When is our current kit agreement with JD Sport to expire and will supporters have an input for next seasons kit?

Answer 5
The agreement with JD Sports expires at the end of this season. The supplier for next season has been appointed, and an announcement regarding the design of the new kit will be made before the end of the season. The management team, coaching and playing staff have all been involved in the design of the new kit."

I would not be surprised if the contract was renewed.

The strange thing about the answer to that question is that it doesn't actually comment on the specific part which asks "will supporters have an input for next seasons kit?". We'd expect input from staff at the club, but what about fans?

Don't get me wrong, the kits chosen by the club this season have been excellent, but with further input from supporters this can only be good for PR, surely? The fear is that the poor kits chosen for the 2013/14 promotion season are put at the fans door as they voted for those the team wore. However, and this was said at the time the choices were released and numerous times since (links available on request!), the options made available were all pretty rubbish. Choosing the best out of 3 average/rubbish choices was much like having to decide whether to play Trotman or Balkestein at centre half.

You came up with some excellent designs, which we could have easily used for the next three seasons.

And others came up with ones that were even better. I think the point is that the knowledge of what fans want to wear and what is practical during games is out there. completely up to football clubs if they choose to tap into it. (do not get me started on Man City's choice of kits)

It's safe to say games at Shrewsbury, Chesterfield and Bury would have been much easier to watch if that knowledge had been utilised during the first promotion season. Do not get me started on Man City's choice of kits this season either...

Hope the new suppliers are just as good as JD Sports/FILA because weren't the match jersey's players and staff wear supplied free by them? Hopefully the new supplier has this in the agreement even if we end up becoming apart of the Mike Ashley circus

Yes! On Nerazurri's designs, number 3 home and numbers 2 and 3 away... dreamy.

Excellent ideas.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?
