They ve invested in strikers to get the goals to enable them to stay up.

They will off set any debt by the massive increase in sky money.

Seems sensible.

If we don't, we will lose out on this money.

It's a trade off and it depends how brave we are.

I'd rather see us back in the Championship than gamble with the clubs existence.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

I know it need not be one or the other, gamble being the important word. If it comes off then great, if it doesn't then shit street.

You think those players Bournemouth have signed will guarantee their premiership survival?

But we are not talking about gambling with the clubs future, just the clubs prem future. If we spend say what? 15 million on two strikers or a striker and a wide player theirs a very good chance we ll stay up and claim what is it 100 million next season. If we dont strengthen up front we will go down.

There is no very good chance we will stay up at all. What happens if they turn out to be another pair of duffers and we go down anyway? What happens if we continue to create the square route of f all for the new strikers who end up scoring just a handful of goals and we go down anyway? What if they get injured first game and out for the season?

Oh and that £100 million for next year, where do you think it's going?

The players get i think around 50 -70 mill between them, other staff ,general day to day running costs the academy [new] ,new training facilities etc it ain't being wasted apart from flying all around the country by private jet

There is a balance to be struck here. No sensible fan wants to see us gamble the clubs long term future. At the same time, we are in a position where we may need to invest a little bit to enhance our chances of survival. No-one is suggesting we bid for Aguerro. Most would be happy with selling Shelvey (and possibly Gomis) and reinvesting at least a chunk of that money in a decent striker (two if Gomis goes, even if one is on loan).

Your last sentence is wise. People seem to genuinely think something will fundamentally change next year and it won't just be the same old cack everywhere with price and wage inflation.

Aye and unless we bring through a few youngsters and sell them on for huge money, or get lucky with a Bony or Michu (minus the injury), then every year we'll struggle for money a little bit more, then a bit more and so on. The Premier League is a c*nt of a place isnt it.

Hope it turns into a disaster for them.

Didn't they already get a slap on the wrist for last season?

I doubt they're worried about it. The rewards far outweigh the penalties.
