I know what I would have chosen then and what I’d still choose now.

Again you are another confusing get purchasing with selling. The reason we can buy every season... is because we sell. Whether it is Jenkins, Rodgers, Laudrup, Tutumlu, Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee - doesn’t matter. The fact is, as a club we have always had to sell in order to buy while in the PL and our successes have come off the back of that philosophy. After the Pratley scenario we learned from those errors and said we would never allow that to happen again. This won’t change, nor should it.

Partly agree but equally you could say our failures are now being driven by the exact same model, where one or two parts of the formula are failing. The model is great when it works (which as you say it has up to a point) but it is a gamble each season and you improve your chances by having the right people making the transfer decisions.

It will always fail eventually. But it will give us the best chance of staying up for the longest time.

The opposite guarantees relegation, and not only that but being in a terrible position after it. To let assets walk away or sit on the bench and then replacing them with no money is utterly senseless and lacks any sort of long term foresight.

Usually the thinking of idiotic internet posters that don’t have the first clue about football and are used to playing Championship manager where you can just press reset if you get relegated with no assets in the squad or money in the bank. A shame long as their favourite players are playing then they don’t care.

Scary how many grown men actually have the above thought process.
