League Two promotion race 11:10 - Mar 3 with 1800 views | durham_exile | This evening we have three intriguing fixtures Exeter v Crewe Plymouth v GRIMsby Swindon v Scunthorpe Swindon 34 66 Crewe 35 65 Exeter 35 64 Cheltenham 35 63 Plymouth 35 62 Northampton 36 58 Port Vale 36 56 COL U 36 55 Bradford 36 54 Let us be clear we are looking to secure 20 more points to guarantee a top seven finish. Whilst the situation still remains in our own hands and feet nevertheless we remain rightly interested in other team's results and will do until the last games of the season. A draw for Exeter and Crewe and defeats for Plymouth and Swindon would be the best case scenario this evening but realistically any points dropped by our competitors between now and the end of April should be warmly welcomed. We need to win up to 7 of our last 10 games starting at Brunton Park on Saturday. Up the U's

League Two promotion race on 08:16 - Mar 8 with 527 views | noah4x4 | Nine games to go. That is a fifth of the season. A lot can happen. I thought it might be interesting to take a look back at the table after nine games and compare.... Team P W D L GD Pts 1 Exeter. 9 6 3 0 8 21 2 Crewe. 9 6 0 3 2 18 3 Cheltenham 9 5 2 2 8 17 4 Swindon. 9 5 2 2 6 17 5 Forest Green 9 5 2 2 2 17 6 Newport. 9 4 4 1 3 16 7 Crawley. 9 4 3 2 3 15 8 Cambridge. 9 4 2 3 4 14 9 Bradford 9 4 2 3 3 14 10 Northampton 9 4 1 4 2 13 11 Grimsby 9 3 3 3 3 12 12 Plymouth 9 3 3 3 3 12 13 Colchester 9 3 3 3 3 12 It is almost as were are at the top, But the wheels evidently came off for Forest Green, Newport, Crawley, Cambridge , Bradford and Grimsby. Whilst Plymouth and Colchester have since been in the ascendency. Newport’s demise spectacular. Quite clearly, most teams have gone through phases of joy and despair this season . I don’t recall a Division so competitive as Division Two 2019-20. I was surprised to hear how long it had been since the U’s collected back to back away victories (as occurred yesterday). Division Two is from over yet, and we remain well placed.

Ok not in the promotion race but Carlisle saw off the Exiles 2-0 last night at Brunton Park Omari Patrick (who I was impressed with on Saturday before fading in the second half) impressed for the Cumbrians and scored early doors. Newport also saw red which never helps a losing cause. One thing is certain we have to play on the cabbage pitch soon and Newport now have nothing but pride to play for. UTU's

It was "old boy" Ryan Inniss who was sent off so we will not face him at Newport 21/3 Good news!
