COLCHESTER United are keen to sign goalkeeper Melvin Minter as back-up for Matt Macey. Should look to sign Bonis for next season, looked better than a bench warmer . [Post edited 5 Mar 18:35]

Back to the dark days of a few seasons ago. Not even second best has a contest and even twelve minutes extra time became a chore . Never got any foothold on the ball and control, possession given away aimlessly too regularly. Considering only a week ago we got a credible point at the Shabby to this performance shows how inconsistent the away performances have become . Onwards and sideways for the U’s . |

Presume we will have a reserve keeper available tonight and watch out for the young lad from Leicester who chipped Macey from his own half at the JCS for Newport earlier in the season, who has been reload out. |

One interesting footnote from Saturdays game was the ball was only in play for 18 minutes in the first half, mostly due to time taken to administer the long throw . So is it time for a stop clock method, to be used by the fourth official when the ball is out of play or dead ? |

Only got ourselves to blame, in not finishing in the second half. Robust performance by the visitors who were proactive in manhandling players throughout. Two incidents by the keepers was the difference. A great double save compared to not cutting out a byline pass, being the difference. Subs could have come on much earlier has Goodwin and Akachukwu ( who cannot play wide) ineffective. |

Sublime performance from the midfield trio. Running off the ball exceptional when game got open in the second half and pace unnerved them subsequently. Poor ref missed a nailed on penalty, so found one later in the second half. Onwards and upwards . [Post edited 21 Feb 20:35]

Very decent point, looked the tidier side, but notice they always get shots off around the box more regularly when in the top half. Sub loanees did not look out of place . Would we be happier if we got a draw last Saturday and lost Tuesday ? Need to follow this performance into Saturday now. Cowley had a right grizzle over moving MDK game to Weds and then the Saturday fix becoming an early kick off . |
