Happy League 2019/20 Week 32 (of 35) - Deadline Wednesday 17th June 18.00 16:45 - Jun 6 with 2495 viewsmfb_cufc

Welcome back everyone. We should be looking forward to the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament starting on 12th June, but instead, thanks to the coronavirus, we look forward to the climax of the English season and of course the Happy League.

When the Happy League season was curtailed after Week 31 on 7th March, there was still 55 games to be played over seven weeks. Now it appears there will be six weeks to get the season finished. I have decided to get the remaining 55 league games finished in four weeks by having three weeks with 15 fixtures, and the final week to have 10 fixtures. Then there will be two weeks for the Charity Shield and Division One play-off semi-finals and finals. The Happy Cup Final will be on the weekend of 27th-28th June, with the FA Cup quarter-finals, and six fixtures from the league.

I have read today the Championship fixture schedule is expected to be completed in the next 48 hours. That will give us another 108 games to go with the 92 from the Premier League, and hopefully more from the play-offs. That is more than enough to get the Happy League season finished, but with games being played every day it is a tight schedule, and there will be a quick turnaround with fixtures in the Happy League. Because the "Weeks" will almost run into one another what I intend to do is put the fixtures for the following week up ASAP. For example before Week 32 has finished the fixtures for Week 33 will available for predicting. It is going to be a hectic six weeks so

STAY ALERT - LOOK OUT FOR FIXTURES - GOOD LUCK WITH PREDICTING

Here is a reminder of the tables situation when the season was curtailed after Week 31:-

ASTON VILLA 0 SHEFFIELD UNITED 0
We are up and running again with a rather dull game, though Sheff Utd will think they were robbed after having what looked like a perfectly good goal disallowed. Nobody got this spot-on, but 8 did have the outcome.

MANCHESTER CITY 3 ARSENAL 0
Man City reduce the Liverpool lead to just 22 points with this comfortable victory against 10-man Arsenal. Just the 2 (Lewis_1 and wessex_exile) had this spot-on, and a further 17 got the outcome.

In the Premier With very few points scored the only change has thrillseeker taking advantage of a no show from Sector4 by moving up a place into the runners-up spot.

In Division One More points scored here, and GOSBTS and concordman both move up a place. The 3 pointer for Lewis_1 enhances his play-off spot, and the 3 pointer for wessex_exile improves his chances of making the play-offs.

Explanations.....

1. Ref bought watch from Del-Boy Trotter

2. Disinfectant makes ball invisible.

3. All seven Hawkeye cameras were obscured by players.

4. Divine Intervention.

Allegedly, (3) is correct, but the others seem far more likely.

Friday night results

NORWICH 0 SOUTHAMPTON 3
Three second-half goals from Southampton condemned Norwich to their fourth defeat in five games, denting their hopes of Premier League survival. Nobody got this spot-on, though 12 did have the outcome.

TOTTENHAM 1 MANCHESTER UNITED 1
A late penalty earned Man Utd a point. With another penalty rightly overturned by VAR. Well done to gsy163 for surprisingly being the only one to have this spot-on, and another 3 got the outcome.

In the Premier With a total of only 4 points achieved from tonight's two games there is no change to positions in this division.

In Division One No change to positions in this league either. By being the only one to get a 3 pointer tonight gsy163 improved his outside chance of making the play-offs. The other notable performance came from GOSBTS by having all the outcomes from the first four games this week.

Saturday results

WATFORD 1 LEICESTER 1
The game exploded into life with two goals in stoppage time. Well done to Blue4U2 for surprisingly being the only one to get this spot-on, and only oxfcolu had the outcome.

BRIGHTON 2 ARSENAL 1
Brighton came from behind to get a 95th minute winner. Well done to BFG for being the only one to have this spot-on, and just the 2 (TheHappyGooner and blueeagle) got the outcome.

WEST HAM 0 WOLVES 2
Raul Jimenez set the record for the most goals by a Wolves player in a Premier League season after netting against West Ham to help strengthen his side's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. 3 got this spot-on, and a further 13 had the outcome.

BOURNEMOUTH 0 CRYSTAL PALACE 2
Palace left struggling Bournemouth deep in Premier League relegation trouble with a comfortable victory. Well done to concordman for being the only one to have this spot-on, and 5 more got the outcome.

We have now had 8 of the 15 games this week, and it has proved to be a difficult return to action for almost everyone, with only 9 spot-ons achieved so far. It has been a real struggle for Premier members with TheFatGooner being the only one to get a 3 pointer. Division One have been more successful, and it is their members who have the highest scorers with Blue4U2, blueeagle, concordman and BFG all on 6 points.

In the Premier Just the two outcomes for noah4x4 so far but nobody has taken advantage. The race for Charity Shield spots is hotting up with only one point separating 3rd to 6th. Top scorer in this division at the moment is Tropical_Us, and his 4 points have got him out of the relegation zone.

In Division One A spot-on each for Blue4U2 and basher2010 have enhanced their automatic places. Five outcomes keeps GOSBTS as the nearest pursuer. Those 6 points for concordman have moved him closer to the play-off spots, and the same 6 points for BFG will give him hope of still making them.

Sunday results

NEWCASTLE 3 SHEFFIELD UNITED 0
Newcastle get an emphatic win over 10-man United, as Joelinton scores their third, 2,130 minutes after his last goal for them. Nobody got this spot-on, but 9 did have the outcome.

ASTON VILLA 1 CHELSEA 2
Chelsea came from behind to win, as Villa have now lost five Premier League games after scoring first this season. 5 had this spot-on, and another 17 got the outcome.

EVERTON 0 LIVERPOOL 0
Seven of the last eight Premier League Merseyside derbies at Goodison Park have ended level. Nobody got this spot-on, though 3 did have the outcome.

The struggle for points continued, especially in the Premier, but at least the Chelsea win gave some respite producing five 3 pointers.

In the Premier Not much to report from today's three games, but at least thrillseeker became the second member to get a 3 pointer in this division with the Chelsea 2-1. Both mfb_cufc and gerry_us move up a place, as they take advantage of the Sector4 no show. The only other change has TheFatGooner moving up a place, as he takes advantage of a no show from RSCOSWORTH.

In Division One Having the Chelsea 2-1 spot-on cements the basher2010 automatic spot, but it is still Blue4U2 leading the way. Another to get the Chelsea 2-1 spot-on was blueeagle, and his impressive 11 points for the week so far has moved him up a couple of places. Despite making it six outcomes for the week GOSBTS moves a couple the other way. The others to benefit from having the Chelsea 2-1 spot-on were Daniel, to keep him in fourth place, and a welcome one for burnsieespana, to help give him a decent 8 points for the week so far.

MANCHESTER CITY 5 BURNLEY 0
City thrashed Burnley to ensure Liverpool will have to wait a little longer to wrap up the Premier League title. A full house predicted a win for City, but just GOSBTS did well to be the only one to have it spot-on.

In the Premier The only change has sevebalo moving up a place, as he is the latest to take advantage of the Sector4 no show.

In Division One Just the one change here as well with that good Man City 5-0 pick moving GOSBTS up a place.

If you are predicting in your works League did you not think about looking to see if the Happy League was starting again. I have always said the Happy League would be starting again, and recent updates have confirmed exactly how this was going to happen. I don't doubt what you are saying is genuine, but because you had every chance of posting those same predictions on the Happy League I can't allow you to have them now.

Tuesday night results

LEICESTER 0 BRIGHTON 0
Neal Maupay's saved penalty proved pivotal as Brighton and Leicester played out a drab bore draw. Nobody got this spot-on, and only BFG had the outcome.

TOTTENHAM 2 WEST HAM 0
Tottenham picked up their first victory in eight games to leave West Ham with a battle to stay in the Premier League. A massive 13 had this spot-on in what was the weeks most predicted score, and a further 13 got the outcome.

After we had the third bore draw this week there was finally the big boost the week was crying out for with the Spurs 2-0 almost doubling the number of spot-ons. To show how much Division One has dominated the Premier over point scoring so far this week, they now have ten members on double figures, while the Premier has none.

In the Premier At last a decent amount of 3 pointers in this division, with leader noah4x4 getting his first one this week. The only change from yesterday has gerry_us moving up a place, thanks to having the Spurs 2-0 spot-on.

In Division One The top two Blue4U2 and basher2010 both get the Spurs 2-0 spot-on, and have now established a 10 point gap back to the third. That third place has Daniel returning there, after he also got 3 points for the Spurs 2-0. Another to benefit from that Spurs 2-0 was concordman, and he moves to within two points of the play-offs. Having that Spurs 2-0 spot-on also helped gsy163 close a bit closer to the play-offs, and made the bursieespana decent week even better.
