Stand up to Robbie Cowling, BLM and the far left politicising our sport! 19:19 - Dec 7 with 2765 views | wonka1975 | Dear fellow Colchester United fans, in light of Robbie Cowling's virtue signalling and telling us we are not welcome at our own stadium unless we submit to BLM, I felt it was important to send him the following email: Dear Robbie Cowling, As a life ling Colchester United fan, I was utterly astounded to see you publicly state that, fans are not welcome in our stadium if they boo the taking of the knee. Do you know how many Colchester United fans you are trying to patronise and alienate? Do you think that denying football fans their right to freedom of expression and perfectly legitimate concerns is a positive thing? And more to the point, what action do you intend to take against Colchester United fans, like myself, who most certainly WILL boo loudly the taking of the knee for Black Lives Matter, or any other violent, far-left, anti-white Marxist hate mob that terrorises towns and cities. For 32 years I have stuck by Colchester United through thick and thin, and now you're telling me that I am not welcome at my own football club? I think you should consider very carefully what Colchester United fans really think of your virtual signalling, for you are now the topic of conversation amongst large sections of our fanbase who feel the same as me. I promise you, this is not going to end well, and it's not going to help Colchester United FC. Consider this: football fans up and down the country do NOT want our beautiful game to be politicised every week. The unfortunate death of a violent and dangerous criminal like George Floyd has got NOTHING to do with football, ANYWHERE in the world. The UK is NOT a racist country, and black players are overrepresented and revered throughout our game. The brutal truth is, everyone is sick to the teeth of having Black Lives Matter and the hoax of black victimhood rammed down their throats, and we are not going to tolerate it at football stadiums. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss this further. Regards, Rikki Kane
Stand up to Robbie Cowling, BLM and the far left politicising our sport! on 22:43 - Dec 7 with 655 views | GOSBTS | Robbie has become a bit of a media-darling since the pandemic spread. Some of his statements I have greatly admired, some I question, like his rather rash comments about the government u-turn on fan coming back shortly before the lockdown. This is another one I'm cautious over. Robbie's response, I fear, only divides people further. On the one hand, he calls for those who want to boo to be at worst, silent during the "taking of the knee". However, in the next breath he is calling fans to fight back at what happened at the weekend by applauding. Now fans have two choices choice: to actively support the knee by clapping, or actively not by being silent. There's no middle ground for those who originally supported it, but now perhaps feel it's losing its meaning and has no quantifiable goal and thus no natural end in sight. Clap for carers ended after a period of time for similar reasons. Though taking the knee is arguably more serious, so far I can see no quantifiable goals it wishes to achieve, and thus no natural end date. Neither side can back down now. If the clubs stopped the knee anytime soon, it'd look like a victory for the "boo-ers" and a victory for those deemed to be booing out of racist sentiment.
Stand up to Robbie Cowling, BLM and the far left politicising our sport! on 00:23 - Dec 8 with 625 views | Daniel | Can we end this debate now please. Personally, I don't feel this debate is for this forum, just like I don't think it's really a debate for football. For what it is worth, the booing of players taking the knee offends me just as much as the players taking the knee in the first place. I believe in equality and see footballers as footballers, not white footballers and black footballers. BLM to me is just like positive discrimination, it forces society to treat people differently and only widens the divide. Let's get back to 22 footballers on a football pitch all different and breathing the same air and kicking the same football. Up the U's

Stand up to Robbie Cowling, BLM and the far left politicising our sport! on 22:40 - Dec 7 by burnsieespana | I don't know what Leadbelly's political views are but mine are not far in left and I fully support taking the knee and firmly believe booing this will make our players wish fans are barred for the remainder of the season. If you and Sebastian don't like it I suggest you go elsewhere as this is truly the sort of muck spouted by so called Millwall fans. Unashamedly I support taking the knee as is one of the few ways a sportsman can express views. |
I'm a life long Colchester United fan and I'm not going anywhere just because YOU expect me to submit to Marxist, anti-white scumbags like BLM. I will boo the taking of the knee because it has no place in our beautiful game. I'm not a racist and I'm sick of being called one just because of my race and my heritage, and I will support Colchester United in the EXACT same way I have done so for the past. BLM is what needs to be eradicated from our club - NOT it's loyal supporters! You got that?

It's a very important debate that needs to be had, unfortunately. Loyal Colchester fans like myself who are EXTREMELY uncomfortable with kneeling for Black Lives Matter need some clarity from our club on what they intend to do when we voice our feelings. And trust me, there are many more like me. We are going to boo the knee, and so are a significant percentage of other supporters up and down the country. FACT.

That's a very helpful post mate, thank you for your thoughts. One thing we cannot do, regardless how we feel, is accuse people of racism just because they are booing the knee. If racist behaviour is ever discovered, ANYWHERE in football, like idiots in the crowd screaming racist abuse at players for example, then the guilty party needs to be banned and reported to the police. You accuse people of racism for good reason, not for booing a racist, anti-white movement like BLM.

If you want to debate it, go debate it with Robbie Cowing. He's the one who has decided to (yet again) alienate supporters of the club. THREAD CLOSED
