Week 22 Results

BURNLEY 1 BRIGHTON 1

Brighton are unbeaten in five Premier League games, their joint-longest run without defeat in the competition, last doing so in March 2018. Eight of the past 11 league meetings between these two sides have ended in draws. A sublime 5 got this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome.

MIDDLESBROUGH 1 BRENTFORD 4
Brentford are now unbeaten in 20 league games, but they had to come from behind to get this emphatic victory. Nobody had this spot-on, but 22 got the outcome with 13 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score. The second week running that Brentford have achieved that feat.

STOKE 0 READING 0
Stoke's winless run stretched to 10 matches (sounds familiar), as Reading get their third bore draw in their last four games. Again nobody got this spot-on, though 7 did have the outcome.

WYCOMBE 0 NOTTINGHAM FOREST 3
Veteran striker Glenn Murray scored twice on his full debut as Forest get a third consecutive away victory. Another game with no 3 pointer, but 22 did get the outcome.

BURTON 1 HULL 0
A 90th minute winner from debutant Jonny Smith gave bottom of the table Burton a much-needed victory. Well done to Lewis_1 for being the only one to get this spot-on, and only unitedwhites had the outcome. The other 25 all predicted a win for high flying Hull.

MK DONS 2 SUNDERLAND 2
Sunderland lost ground in the League One play-off race after being held to their 11th draw of the season. Yet another game with no 3 pointer, and just 2 got the outcome.

PORTSMOUTH 2 PLYMOUTH 2
Two goals in the last 4 minutes earn Portsmouth a dramatic draw. Those late goals were good news for durham_exile as he did well to be the only one to get this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome. 24 predicted a win for Portsmouth.

CHELTENHAM v CARLISLE POSTPONED Due to Cheltenham players testing positive for Covid-19

MANSFIELD v FOREST GREEN POSTPONED Due to a waterlogged pitch

NEWPORT 1 GRIMSBY 0
10-man Newport get their first win in 10 league games, thanks to new loan signing Nicky Maynard's winner. 4 had this spot-on, and a further 21 got the outcome.

STEVENAGE 2 MORECAMBE 2
Ex-U's Luke Norris' late header helped Stevenage come from behind to earn a draw. Well done to Pinault_Noir for being the only one to get this spot-on, and 3 more had the outcome. 19 predicted a win for Morecambe.

Another two games postponed this week, but with heavy snow forecast for Sunday, it was a good job today's fixtures were not being played 24 hours later, or there could have been a lot more lost to the weather. The nine games left produced a real mixed bag of results, making it difficult to find those important 3 pointers. In the circumstances a total of 12 was not too bad. Though it was still a tough week, and It was the outcomes from Brentford, Forest and Newport that made sure everybody put some points on the board. Three members did well to get two 3 pointers, they were RSCOSWORTH, unitedwhites and BFG. They all had the Burnley 1-1 and the Newport 1-0, and three outcomes each to give them an excellent 9 points, and therefore share the honour of being the weeks top scorer. For the second week running it is a special mention for gerry_us, as he was best of those to get one 3 pointer, the Burnley 1-1, and an impressive five outcomes to give him a very decent 8 points.
Week 23 will now be an 8 game one to make for the two postponed matches this week.

In the Premier An amazing week in this division with the only 3 pointers being achieved by those in the bottom three. That means with the top nine all relying on outcomes to get their points, there is little change in this part of the league. In fact eight scored either 2 or 3. It was the 4 from TheFatGooner that produced the only change by moving him up a place. Those in the relegation places really took advantage, especially RSCOSWORTH as his top scoring performance took him out of those places for the first time this season. Five weeks ago that looked a tall order, but since then he has got 40 points, 7 more than anybody else in this division. Although still in the relegation zone Tropical_Us improved his position again, thanks to having the Burnley 1-1 spot-on, and is only in the bottom three now on the most 3 pointer rule. In just three weeks gerry_us has cut a 17 point deficit to escape, down to just 5 points. The bottom five are now only separated by 6 points, and is only 14 points separating the top three from the bottom three.

In Division One Three outcomes for the leader concordman, but his lead was cut by 5 points as the top scoring performance from unitedwhites moved him up a couple of places, and back into the other automatic spot for the first time since Week 15. Third place is held by ghughes11, thanks to getting the Newport 1-0 spot-on. A good four outcomes for blueeagle, but he drops two to fourth. The top scoring performance from BFG takes him another place to fifth, as he continues his good run that has seen him get 30 points over the last four weeks, more than anybody in this league. Even though he drops a place into the final play-off spot, durham-exile will be pleased to see there is a 7 point gap back to the nearest pursuer, that is wessex_exile again, as he moved up a place.

THE TABLES (178 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
