Week 23 results BIRMINGHAM CITY 0 LUTON TOWN 1 Ex-U's loanee Dan Potts gets the only goal, to make it 11 home games without a win for Birmingham, in which they have lost 9 of them. 3 got this spot-on, and just 1 more had the outcome. CARDIFF CITY 3 COVENTRY CITY 1 Cardiff continued their recent revival under new boss Mick McCarthy, with a win that moves them up to 7th in the Championship, but 6 points off the play-offs. Another ex-U's loanee Josh Murphy scored Cardiff's third. Nobody had this spot-on, but 22 did get the outcome with 9 going for a 2-0 in what turned out to be the weeks most predicted score. ROTHERHAM UNITED v QUEENS PARK RANGERS POSTPONED Frozen pitch AFC WIMBLEDON v ROCHDALE POSTPONED Frozen pitch BRISTOL ROVERS v SWINDON TOWN POSTPONED Frozen pitch SHREWSBURY TOWN v IPSWICH TOWN POSTPONED Frozen pitch BRADFORD CITY v SALFORD CITY POSTPONED Frozen pitch HARROGATE TOWN v LEYTON ORIENT POSTPONED Frozen pitch There were 19 matches postponed today in the EFL due to a "frozen pitch", of which we had 6 of them. If that was true, and no snow was involved, I would think it is some kind of record. I can remember watching games in the 60's and 70's being played on bone hard frozen pitches. Players just put their trainers on and got on with it. Also they would play with 3 inches of snow on the pitch. Neither happens these day's, since health and safety has taken priority. That left us with just the 2 games, and they produced 3 spot-ons, and 23 outcomes. The 3 pointers were achieved by TheFatGooner, basher2010 and Daniel. They also all had the Cardiff outcome to give them a very useful 4 points, and obviously a share of being the weeks top scorer. Just one member, thrillseeker, got 2 outcomes. Week 24 will now be a 16 game week, to make up for the 6 games postponed this week. Champions League The competition starts next Tuesday. All the details can be found on the U'sual Champions League thread. As a reminder here are the 12 qualifiers for the competition. thrillseeker (holder) concordman, ghughes11, sevebalo, mfb_cufc, unitedwhites, durham_exile, TheFatGooner, burnsieespana, Sector4, wessex_exile and Daniel. In the Premier The top four all had the Cardiff outcome, so no change there for the third week running. That means sevebalo takes his spell at the top to 7 weeks. No change in the next three places either, but thrillseeker, TheFatGooner and basher2010 all move closer to the top three. The only change in this division has Daniel moving up three places, and out of the relegation zone. In the bigger scheme of things it wasn't a bad week for Blue4U2 to miss, but it was enough for him to go three places the other way, and into the bottom three, for only the second time this season. The other time being in Week 3. In Division One With the top five getting the Cardiff outcome there is no change there. That means concordman takes his run at the top to an impressive 14 weeks. Though he failed to score durham_exile still has a 7 point gap back to his nearest pursuer. That is now Lewis_1, who along with burnsieespana, moved up a place, in what were the only changes in this league. THE TABLES (180 out of 280 played) (Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) Week 24 Fixtures This is now a 16 game week, to make up for the postponed games in Week 23, picked by this weeks guest burnsieespana.
