Dear All - I've just discovered that there are train strikes planned for that weekend, after already buying two tickets for the game. Details of services affected are yet to be released, but just a heads-up for anyone else planning the trip.

There are usually limited trains to Stratford and London from Colchester even on strike days. However, I believe this strike coincides with engineering work and there are rail replacement buses from Witham to Billericay.

Three full CUSA buses so far……

I think Wessex comes from the opposite direction unfortunately.
Good luck Wessex. Maybe one of the CUSA buses can make a slight diversion and pick you up.

It's been quite a few years, but I might have a National Express option to Victoria then tube from there, though possibly not so for my mate Jon - currently waiting to find out the details.

We're going and parking at Westfield. Doesn't really help you Wessex though :)

I was going to travel down from Darlington to Kings Cross on the Saturday but LNER are also affected by Lynch's unilateral action.

Very disappointing indeed.

I haven't been to Brisbane Road for years.

Never underestimate the power of collective bargaining comrade Durham 🤣

RMT have agreed to suspend strike action following an improved offer, we wait to see how the individual train operators will respond 🤞

As Ken Dodd would have said what a lovely day for knocking on the door at the Russian Embassy and asking is Len in?

Wessex I wait out. The train from Darlington to Kings Cross is an excellent service.
Good news anticipated.
