Plenty of optimistic predictions before the Crawley match but once again the U's fell to a defeat, this time to a team who previously just had the one away win all season. mfb_cufc has now joined ghughes11 at the top of the table and would occupy top spot by himself had it not been for Joe Taylor's late consolation goal. Not many points elsewhere but burnsieespana now has sole possession of third spot. oxfcolu remains rooted to the bottom, not posting can't even encourage a Col U victory it seems, but is only two points behind Blue4U2. | |

Understandably there wasn't a lot of optimism going into this match with most people going for a comfortable Wrexham win. Despite playing most of the game with 10 men it was a win for Wrexham but hardly a comfortable one with poor defending and a bit of misfortune leading to yet another defeat for Col U. mfb_cufc now has sole possession of top spot, a point ahead of burnsieespana with RSCOSWORTH a further point behind. Christmas came early for U's fans with a much needed home win and most people were rewarded with plenty of points to go with their optimism. It was all change at the top as mfb_cufc went from first to fifth as spot on predictions for burnsieespana, RSCOSWORTH and ghughes11 helped them move into the top three places with wessex_exile remaining fourth. Blue4U2 missed this week and gerry_us took advantage to move four points ahead. oxfcolu is hoping by not predicting it will lead to an upturn in results for Col U, maybe this is the start of that. | |

A brave rear guard action at Milton Keynes on Boxing Day came unstuck in the last few minutes of the match as once again Milton Keynes stole three points they scarcely deserved. No spot ons this week but a number of people had gone for a Milton Keynes win so there was a few points scored. burnsieespana maintained his one point lead over RSCOSWORTH at the top of the table as Colukev and mfb_cufc moved into joint third alongside ghughes11. A missed week for wessex_exile saw him drop to sixth and with no points scored by the bottom three there was no change at the foot of the table. | |

Whether it was brought about by the Christmas festivities or the season of good will it was a rather optimistic set of predictions for the U's trip to Wimbledon. At one point during the first half the optimism looked like being rewarded but alas a shambolic defensive display saw the U's concede five and succumb to yet another defeat. RSCOSWORTH and mfb_cufc, who both went for a Wimbledon win, were the only points scorers from this goal fest. These points helped RSCOSWORTH climb to the top of the table, with burnsieespana dropping to second and mfb_cufc taking sole possession of third place. With no other points scored the rest of the table remains as it was. | |

Once again it was a pretty positive set of predictions and had Joe Taylor taken the gilt edged chance in the first half in what turned out to be his final game in a U's shirt they might have been justified but as it was Gillingham needed just the single goal in what was a pretty poor game to take all three points. Once again RSCOSWORTH and mfb_cufc were the only ones to predict a Col U defeat and their five and three points respectively mean they are now one and two in the table. The only other points went to wessex_exile and Blue4U2 who both went for Gillingham to score one. Blue4U2 also predicted that the U's would be managerless in the very near future and that proved to be correct as Matty Etherington was put out of his misery and relieved of his duties not long after the final whistle. | |

The arrival of brothers Danny and Nicky Cowley as the new Col U management/coaching team led to a positive feeling around the club that I hadn't witnessed in quite some years. This led to everyone, apart from Blue4U2, predicting a Col U win against an out of form Swindon team. Unfortunately Swindon hadn't read the script and went 2-0 up in the first half, mainly due to some pretty good fortune but Matt Jay's first goal for the U's just before half time set Col U up for the comeback and despite having the majority of the play in the second half the comeback wasn't complete until stoppage time when Ihionvien deflected Wilkinson's clever backheel over the line to give the U's a deserved point in the Cowley's first game in charge. Plenty of players scored a point courtesy of that late second goal for Col U but it didn't really affect the table too much. RSCOSWORTH remains fives points ahead of mfb_cufc at the top with burnsieespana just a single point further back. The three points Blue4U2 scored for correctly predicting a draw helped him to move within a point of gerry_us in eighth. | |

Buoyed by the comeback against Swindon the vast majority of predictions were for a Col U win in the Cowley's first home game. Sadly Col U didn't start playing until the second half and by that time were 1-0 to a Bradford team not in the greatest of form. An excellently taken goal from Tom Hopper against former U's fans favourite Sam Walker brought the U's level but a winner couldn't be found and the points were shared once again.
