It was was good opportunity to give Tall Paul a start, but he's on the bench again.

'balloons off his head into space'
So he has to bury in the net any crosses sent to him,is this a joke?
Name me Centre Forward who scores with every cross sent to them?
I watched him come on last night and you could see his frustration at the few crosses that were sent into the box, most of the time he was watching the ball going sideways in front of him.
Onuacho may or may be the answer to our woes but don't blame or ridicule him when we play the way we do.

No, it isn’t a joke. Firstly I didn’t say I expected him to score with every cross. I don’t even expect a shot. Instead I’d expect a big striker, when the ball comes to him in the air, to redirect the ball as any professional footballer should. The ball connects with his head like a basketball on a trampoline.

I remember watching Ron Davies ,probably the best header of a ball I have ever seen miss direct a cross and he had Terry Paine crossing to him.

I'm with you Grumps on this one.
Albeit Tall Paul is probably not a Premier lge striker, if he was given as much game time as Armstrong & Archer I'd put money on Tall Paul scoring more goals than either of them in a season, but unfortunately under this Manager we'll never know.

you only have to look at how much possession we have and how little we produce in attack to see what the problem is,nobody is prepared to take a chance and get the ball into dangerous areas, players always happy to go sideways and backwards, its bored the ars+ off me and produced 1 point, sick of it.

One of Stokes goal was embarrassing, they just played a few balls direct to our goal and scored.

Even though we won Grumps I thought the performance was embarrassing. We were playing an under strength Stoke side who are fighting relegation from the Championship and but for a last ditch goal line clearance from Sugawara we would probably have lost and thrown another two goal home lead away

Russell Martin said this was our most important game of the season. He can’t have been happy with that performance

And I’m not knocking Martin, with the strike force he has to choose from he’s on a hiding to nothing

The strike force that Martin has to choose from reflects his priorities and the way he wants to play just as much as Tall Paul reflected on Nathan Jones' choices. If he had demanded a centre forward instead of Diaz, Archer, Fraser, Cornet etc then that's what he would have got. So he deserves the criticism.
