It's common in Business. It's called "MicroManagement:. Meaning the top dogs don't trust their managers to manage. So why appoint Managers ?. |

Slack Jack is rumoured to be the best leader of men at the club. That doesn't say a lot about the rest of them. Also Adam Armstrong spouting off again about the teams lack of effort, he is Captain when Slack Jack s not playing. Its the Captains job to motivate & make sure his team mates put in a shift. Adam Armstrong is no more a leader than Kier Starmer. |

No good talking about other Managers. We're stuck with the one we've got. As is with the squad of player we have, We're stuck with them. Same with owners, We're stuck with them. Taking all this into consideration, nothing is going to change, We're in for a bumpy ride. |

Bit unfair to say that both Edwards & Charles are shadows of what they were. Charles was probably one of our best players until his injury. Edwards has not really been given a run in the side & when he has played he's been played out of his best position. But I totally agree that some of the senior players have created a lazy culture that needs sorting. [Post edited 5 Jan 22:05]

Makes you wonder who actually selects the team each week. I'm convinced our coach whoever it is is told what players to use & also told which ones not to use. Hence Ronnie Edwards not being involved, the club intend to sell him so he's no longer available for selection. Must be so frustrating for a coach. |
 | Forum Thread | Merry go Round of Managers / Coaches at 15:23 5 Jan 2026
What a start to the New year. Maresca left Chelsea Amorin sacked at Man U. Nancy sacked at Celtic. This Merry Go Round of Managers / Coaches is becoming farcical. Any bets on who'll be the Next one to go. I reckon West Ham will sack Nuno this week. [Post edited 5 Jan 17:20]

You're right the players have downed tools. They are afraid of getting promoted because they know they just ain't good enough to play in Premier Lge. |
 | Forum Thread | Where's Ronnie Edwards at 18:29 4 Jan 2026
Ronnie Edwards has not been seen for weeks, not been on bench over Xmas Period. Has he upset someone at the club or has a deal been done for him to move on in this transfer window so the club are making sure that he doesn't get injured. |

You're missing the point Grumps. Tonda took the job knowing that he'd get sacked at some stage & be paid for the rest of his contract.. I've said it so many times that because players & coaches have such good long contracts the incentive is to fail, they know that when they are sacked ( & they will be at some stage) that they'll be paid for the full period of their contract. I know some will say that their Pride will make perform, I don't accept that, I think most pro footballers & coaches are to shallow & mercenary for that. I don't blame Tonda for taking the job, the blame lies solely with Sports Republic for appointing him. [Post edited 4 Jan 18:47]

I'd have taken Antonio 5 years ago but def not now. Too risky considering his age & his accident. We're already playing walking football, don't want a veterans team as well. |
 | Forum Thread | Ex Saint coach Callum McFarlane in charge at Chelses at 12:35 3 Jan 2026
Callum McFarlane who was our under 21 coach before he joined Chelsea to coach their under 21's. He has now been promoted to coach Chelsea first team albeit probably only interim.. But that would suggest that Chelsea do rate highly to trust him with the first team after all of the big name coaches they have had. |
 | Forum Thread | It's obvious now, the owners & the players don't want promotion. at 11:09 2 Jan 2026
The Owners have stated that we're not equipped to play in Premier lge & the players are afraid of getting promotion. It has become obvious that when TE took over & our results picked up & we got within touching distance of the play offs that everybody took there foot off the gas. Not because they thought they were good enough to get promoted but because they know they as a club & individually they are just not good enough for Premier Lge. Many of our players were part if the team that took us down & they all struggled in the Premier lge. They know that if they get promoted then they would probably get left out of the team or would be playing in a team that's likely to get hammered each week so they have decided its best to make sure that we don't get promoted. Yes they'd be on more money but only for a season & they are not exactly on bad money playing in Championship. |

Manning spends more time facing his own goal than facing the opposition goal. He receives the ball facing his own goal & doesn't even consider turning, having a look or playing the ball forward. The only time he faces the opposition goal is when he bombs forward & then gets caught out of position. |

On the Sky Sports live coverage of the match today it had Tonda as " Interim Manager". Have I missed something, I thought he'd been appointed as manager on 2 year contract. That's NOT interim. |

What's the point of having Managers that don't know what they're doing. We've had so many of them. But perhaps we don't need a Manager at all because Skack Jack picks the team & he's the first name on the team sheet. |

I can't even be bothered to comment on what I witnessed this afternoon. I wouldn't be able to say it without swearing. |
