Shocking developments today. Let’s hope justice is done a.s.a.p. If the allegations are true, it puts football into perspective. Even if they are acquitted, it’s difficult to how they can bounce back any time soon from these shocking charges.
The plight of the players, staff and fans at the Jammers is of little consequence when compared to the potential suffering that may have happened, but even so, with the two banged up on remand, it must have an effect on everyone at the club.
A very sad state of affairs.

I’m not a 100% sure how this works, but I believe the waiting list/time for crown court trials is enormous, so presumably defendants can be on remand for years?
The MP for Harlow said the following in Parliament recently:
“In Essex, 20% of (rape) cases are stopped after a defendant has been charged because victims are dropping out and withdrawing their support. With some waiting years for their case to get through the courts, is it any wonder that they give up on justice?”
