Any one fancy a game of eye spy to elevate the boredom?

I'll start... I spy with my little eye....

Something beginning with...

...C.

Wessex got it!

Wessex is a brain and I'm more described as in brine

Poll: In Daniel's PL, Sector4 is top, I'm 2nd or 3rd depending on the update

The Barmy Army?

Tony 'Bloody' Adcock?

Totally Bloody Awesome? (I admit, this one is a little far fetched!)

1) Very very close

2) Drifting out (and anyway, that would have to include an "R" somewhere)

3) Definitely far-fetched...

Ask yourself - what do I see?

The Barside Army?

(I've been waiting to post that since 9am as I couldn't log on today at work!)

JT is close enough, but not quite a bulls-eye.

I see...the barside a-rising

JT shoots...

He hits the bar....

The ball bounces over the line....

But, controversially the goal is disallowed due to Wessex's blatant bending of the rules (cheating).

Not meaning to be picking but according to the International Eye Spy Rue Book 'I See The Barside A Rising' is an ISBAR and not a TBA.

To be honest, I did consider R for Rising, but decided in the end it had to be an A for A-rising, and tried to include the I See bit into the I spy preamble...

...and then I remembered it's f'cking internet I-Spy

Oh you were playing by by the internet I-spy rules. Why didn't you say! All makes sense now!

Barside rising, I reckon I should have seen that one coming over the hill

Barside...
My apologies for the long delay in my reply and my apparent (but unfortunately unavoidable) rudeness. To explain; I have been to Russia for two weeks and out of G3/Wi-fi range...

However, my prediction that the first round of (anybody bored) "I Spy" would still be running on my return was accurate ( but do note that I spy wasn't the purpose of my visit - here I do digress from our game)...

So we are agreed; let's use 'Old English' descriptive notation; reflecting the superior spelling and grammatical excellence of our generation...

1. P-K4; P-K4.
But (shock!)....Barside then changes to;
1. P-K4; P-K5!

The eagerly watching Sports Press comment on this opening gambit...

P-K5! So very modern! But that now puts Barside's Kings pawn on Noah's (same) pawn square in "Old English" descriptive notation (hence an illegal move). Barside's apparent attempt to switch descriptive focus into 'Algebraic notation' throws the bout into chaos as something has become lost in cross Atlantic translation. Or was this an attempt to reinforce Pete's more contemporary profile? Or did he really mean (now using Algebraic Notation)?...

1. P-d4; P-d5

The official adjudicator is forced to ask both gladiators ; So which notation system do we propose to use;

1. Algebraic chess notation?
2. Standard algebraic notation (SAN)?
3. Figurine algebraic notation (FAN)?
4. Long algebraic notation (LAN)?
5. Minimal algebraic notation (MAN)?
6. Reversible algebraic notation (RAN)?
7. Concise reversible algebraic notation (CRAN)?
8. Figurine concise reversible algebraic notation (FCRAN)?
9. Descriptive chess notation?
10. ICCF numeric notation?
11. Smith notation?
12. Coordination notation?
13. Uedemann code notation?
14. Gringmuth code notation?
15. Rutherford code notation
(note 13 & 14 & 15 use Morse code for telegrams and radio)

Given the opportunity to now extend this "Anybody Bored" thread to record lengths of debate elevating the degree of "boredom" to maximum threshold, I reckon that we should invite all watching boarders to state their preference and why...then we go with the majority....

(hee hee).

But in the meanwhile...
1. P-d4; P-d5
2. P-e3 ?
