It may seem a long way off but........................EFL 2022/23 confirmed 13:49 - Nov 16 with 804 viewsdurham_exile

"The EFL schedule for the 2022/23 season has been confirmed, with the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two set to start on the weekend of Saturday 30 July 2022.

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar takes place over a five-week period in November and December 2022, with the EFL Schedule adjusted to accommodate.

Match round 16 in the Championship, set to take place on Saturday 12 November, will be the final round of fixtures played ahead of the call-up period for the tournament, which begins on Monday 14 November.

The Championship will resume on 10 December 2022 following the culmination of the World Cup Group Stages, whilst League One and League Two fixtures will continue as normal. The existing international calls postponement criteria will be applied throughout, where necessary.

The Carabao Cup will be getting underway week commencing 8 August, with the Papa John’s Trophy starting later that month, week commencing 29 August.

The Finals of both competitions will be held at Wembley Stadium, on Sunday 26 February for the Carabao Cup and Sunday 19 March for the Papa John’s Trophy.

The final day of the 2022/23 season in the Championship, League One and League Two will be across the weekend of Saturday 6 May 2023, with the Sky Bet EFL Play-Off Finals scheduled for the 27-29 May 2023."

Wessex you tease!

What is the National League!!!!!!!!

Joking apart I don't know about you but I feel incredibly heartened about our season with the prospect of progression in two cup competitions and three points at Stevenage. Perhaps I am too easily pleased, but we are only 9 points off a play off place with one game in hand!

Now is Michael Folivi any closer to full fitness.

Yep, surprisingly buoyant here after two victories, one credible draw and still in two cup competitions - I'm even planning to watch the Solihull Moors v Wigan replay tonight to run the rule over next round's FA Cup opposition.

As for Folivi, I still reckon he'll be lucky if he's fit by January sadly.

22 minutes in and nothing to worry the U's on view so far.

In fact there doesn't look to be much between the two teams.

Gavin Massey still only 29 amazing but true!

To be fair, it looked a bit 'theatrical' to me. Not too much quality showing from either side at the moment, though Rooney looks a handful.

36 minutes gone, and the exodus for half-time refreshments appears to have begun - they clearly like a pie in the Midlands

Not the most inspiring game.

Second half needs to liven up.

Never been to Solihull, can't comment on the pie quality.

The Damson Stadium suggests a fruit pie might be the thing!

Watching the replay at half-time, I actually agree, that was a clear penalty whether Rooney was looking for it or not.

Far less convincing than the first half shout - case of the referee balancing his ledger perhaps?

Every chance of a red card too.
Bad tempered affair at times.

Anyone's game.

Moors playing for penalties if they can last out.

Hudlin looks rather unwieldy and clumsy.

We maybe dodged a bullet there.

No way back for the Moors now.

Bring on the Latics, we can beat them.

Hudlin is not the answer to our striker situation.
Too clumsy not mobile enough and looks like a warm the bench player.

Still we know all about them!

Was going to say the same - Hudlin looks like a donkey to me, despite his height.

Solihull have had their chances to equalise not enough quality in the final analysis.

Wigan it is then.

Indeed, and whilst Wigan weren't that impressive tonight, they'll be a different prospect when the 3rd Round draw is in sight. We'll have to be on our game to be in it. Chance to maybe welcome Jamie Jones and Gavin Massey?
