Semi-final Fixtures There will be 7 games on the Saturday, and 3 on Sunday from the FA Cup 4th Round, to keep the suspense going. So, how did the bowls go? |
The Colchester team I played in finished a close third, out of six teams.
It was a six team tournament where everybody played each other once. We won our first three games, and drew the fourth. Just had to win the last game to win the thing. We were 5-3 down, and then in the penultimate end we held four shots, when the skip fired with the final shot of the end, hit the jack, and they won three shots. Instead of going into the final end with a 2 shot lead we were 5 down, and that was it. Disappointing thing was Southend won it, and we had beaten them 11-2 in our first game. After losing that game they went to win their other four to win it. | |

No I am not them. Until you mentioned them, I had never heard of them. There is only one indooor bowls club in Colchester, named appropriately Colchester Indoor Bowls Club, and I have heard Colchester Oysters mentioned there.
