The U's get a early exit from the cup with the Clarets fully deserving victory by showing their league opponents in how to finish. After a bright start and the U's looking to score the perfect goal the U 's fall behind when a ball falls perfectly for the striker to clip a shot over Cousins into the net. From then on until half time the U's loose their way and needed to up their game after halftime . The U's press up field after the break but Magnus gets caught out at the back with the striker nipping between the centre half and Cousins to head home. Rose pulls a goal back with a direct free kick on the edge of the area and when White threads a ball to Ibhere the Chelmsford keeper stands up well to save his shot and the chance to equalise has passed . With minutes to go the U's fail to clear there lines and the game is put to bed with a great finish into the top left hand corner of the net from the edge of the box . Further embarrassment is adverted when Cousins pulls off a great full length save in the dying minutes. Full credit is due and we cannot deny Chelsmsford there victory, but several U's players under perform and the end product not forthcoming from good positions. Christmas shopping beckons for second round day and wish the Clarets more progress from which they deserve.
