Luke Prosser on 19:04 - Aug 10 with 1118 views | Fruitbat | Just looked them up on Transfermarkt, only had 9 players under contract and have signed 10 this summer. No wage cap in the National League.
Luke Prosser on 19:05 - Aug 10 with 1116 views | wessex_exile | If you look back through their news page on the BBC Sport, Stevenage have been spending money like they just don't care for quite a while now, including: - Luke Prosser - Ben Coker on loan - Tyrone Marsh from Boreham Wood - Romain Vincelot, previously with Shrewsbury (but apparently a free agent at the time) - Billy Johnson, released by Norwich City - Ross Marshall from Maidstone United - Elliot Osborne from Stockport County - Femi Akinwande, previously at Braintree and Billericay - Inih Effiong, released by Dover - offered a new deal to captain Scott Cuthbert, and - poached Lennie Lawrence from Newport as a 'management consultant' On top of which, their former Head of Academy Recruitment was caught embezzling £15k of club money into his own bank account, one of their supporters has been found guilty of a racially aggravated public order offence and banned for three years, and they have been barred from contributing at an appeal hearing about the Macc 2-point deduction, which if upheld will confirm Stevenage's relegation to the National League (hearing is tomorrow btw). In answer to your original question, I'm not certain they can to be honest.

Apart from that, all quiet at Stevenage.

Yep, pretty standard. Bet the National League can't wait to welcome them

"if the right deals are there" That's a significant caveat.

At.least we can watch LP and his Stevenage mates as thx Silkmen have been relegated today. Frankly it is appalling. After the Sheffield Wednesday debacle we now have Stevenage Borough. Perhaps Macclesfield will collectively be charged with the Kennedy assassination. It is absurd to say the least. Perhaps we can appeal against our failure to secure promotion is the play offs when we lost to Warnock and Plymouth Argyle! The technical term is bo88ocks Up the U's

I know the rules are there for a reason, and Macclesfield were clearly in a significantly poor financial situation, but still a sad decision in my opinion. Stevenage were the worst team in the league by a country mile, yet escape through the financial woes of a decent little outfit like Macclesfield.

Agreed and yet the EFL continue to do nothing about serial offenders such as Southend.

I know what you mean, but I do have a grudging respect for Ron - he is a master of playing the system perfectly. Not someone I'd want in control of my club, give me Robbie Cowling any day of the week and twice on Sundays, but he is a very shrewd operator.

It will be interesting to see how he keeps the plates spinning this season. Covid 19 and all it entails will cause problems for even the best run clubs outside the PL. If Ron can fend off the taxman yet again I’ll join you in grudging respect.

Luke Prosser on 09:43 - Aug 13 with 835 views | burnsieespana | According to LP he was still in talks with us up to last week. Move makes sense for him as only 15 mins from home and, as he says will be on the school run! I did wonder if we were perhaps thinking in terms of a player/coach role for him and even maybe as Ball's assistant.
