Tommy Smith achieves 50th cap for NZ against China

The U's defender played in the 0-0 draw but had an early bath after he was sent off after a last man foul challenge on a Chinese attacker.
His International call up means he will miss the Tranmere game this weekend.

They're due to play again on Saturday as well - will Tommy have to sit that one out, or don't red cards count for international friendlies?

Does he just get 2/3rds of a cap having been sent off on 60 minutes?

It was certainly a sweet and sour game for Tommy.

NZ defeated China 2-1 in their second friendly.
However it was without Tommy Smith after his last man sending off in the first friendly game.
