My Seaweed supporting colleague just sent the following from their forum

Never want to see Goodliffe wearing our shirt again.

Hopper showed no goal scoring threat about him whatsoever.

Bonne added to his ever growing catalogue of glaring misses. Please god we don’t persist with him next year

Makes me smile

Slightly concerning about Goodliffe as I fully expect him to be here next season although I also thought Kelleher would be leaving but right now I think we should definitely be offering him a new contract.

Poll: How many polls will Leadbelly do this season?

Certainly don't understand the criticism of Goodliffe.

He is full of action and knows where the goal is.

He suffered two injuries which may well have affected his performance but I suspect The scumend fan simply hates Colchester and so their comments are coloured accordingly.

Macca Bonne has not been the same since his RTA after training but he has not been well served by successive clubs and management.

Don't see him ever returning to Colchester but I would have Goodliffe back.

Personally never been impressed by Goodliffe.
Imo he flatters to deceive and would not be surprised if he was moved on by DC regardless of the league we are in.
Kells never pretends to be anything he isn't imo.

Bonne and Hopper now have the nicknames Duff-it and Scuff-it.

Surprised Goodliffe out of favour with the fans, but it is clear to me that centre back partnerships are essential. Not sure who he is playing with, but it sounds as if it is not working.

I have been a member of Shrimperzone for many years, I have a relation who is a Southend fan so I take an interest in what goes on there. Goodliffe is getting ripped apart on there, they don’t rate him at all saying he is far too slow to be playing at that level and also that he has a mistake in him every time he touches the ball. I don’t think it is doing Ben any good playing there, he is in and out of the team and is probably getting abuse from the home support. I think he has struggled after his serious injury, in August 2022 he suffered a ruptured posterior cruciate ligament injury, which kept him out for 6 months. The previous season he was a leading player in Suttons promotion season, he was in the National league team of the season 11 wearing the number 5 shirt.
