Picking up on something RSC said on another thread but if you took the league positions today , next season in League 2 will be a nightmare for travelling
Current relegation from League 1 - Port Vale, Northampton, Rotherham, Blackpool
Current promotion from League 2 - Bromley, MK Dons, Cambridge plus 1 other
Relegation from League 2 - Harrogate , Barrow
Current promotion from National League - Rochdale plus 1 other from - York & Carlisle, Scnthorpe, FGR, Halifax, but preferably Boreham Wood or Seaweed.
I appreciate there is plenty of time for things to change but at today's date it is horrid to think about [Post edited 15 Mar 11:06]

We are used to it! If we examine actual mileage, I suspect it won’t be too different from when Carlisle and Hartlepool were in the division along with Barrow.
Harrogate and Barrow dropping out is plenty compensation for me. Will never forget how the former treated our disabled supporters. Barrow is simply the end of civilisation.
Bromley too ought not be in the EFL. Shocking ground, terrible facilities, so glad they gone, albeit upward. People will note my detest of sub-standard stadiums. Crawley is another shitehole.
The clubs most likely to join League Two, except FGR all have decent grounds and a friendly welcome. ButI wouldn’t welcome BorehamWood or Southend despite their locality, if York, Carlisle and Scunny are in the mix. Proper grounds, proper facilities, and a decent pub are pre-requisites. |  | | |

Sadly, the top half of League 2 is full of eminently ‘reachable’ away days for me, apart from Grimsby (distance) and Bromley (ticket availability, normally), so if we have to lose four, I’d prefer those two were among them, and definitely Barrow and Harrogate at the other end.
From League 1, Port Vale and Northampton would be okay replacements, in an ideal world (for me) to be joined by Exeter and Orient. From the NL, it’s definitely going to be Rochdale or York, and really should be both, but with the lottery of the play-offs I’d take FGR for obvious reasons 
As for Southend, I find myself comforted by the words of Ridley Scott, “I will see you again my friend…but not yet…Not yet!” |  |

I cannot comment on the away facilities at Bromley, because by some kind of error on my part I ended up with a ticket in the home end. 
The home end is a bizarre setup where most (if not all) of the home supporters can access a huge ‘social club’ come bar, come function room, along one side of the ground. It was all quite civilized enjoying a pleasant beer, whilst the faithful where suffering the other side of the ground. Hopefully, with a bit more success, they will sort the away facilities soon.
I’d quite like another visit to Rotherham, one of my favourite stadiums. Architecturally, the way the roof steps down from the main stand to the much smaller opposite side is clever and the floodlight towers on the lower side are smart. All in all it’s a classy ground in a shite town.
Halifax’s ground is a lovely place to watch football when the sun is shining. York’s new ground is good if you need more underpants, as it’s next to the biggest M&S I’ve ever seen.
I’ve not been to FGR or Borham Wood and I’d like to keep it that way. |  | | |

Worst Away Days…..
Bromley….last season….ghastly!
1. Away fans refused entry to their social club’.
2. Nearest pub circa 2 miles away up a steep hill.
3. 600 away fans, but only a single catering kiosk, waste of time queuing for food etc.
4. One single female toilet.
5. Cramped seating in a marquee style temporary stand (like Barrow, but worse).
6. Obscured views due to supporting posts.
7. Muddy car park, don’t wear your best footwear!
Forest Green Rivers.
1. Open uncovered terrace for away fans.Pray for no rain.
2. Low views, like at amateur grounds.
3. All food vegan - cardboard bean-burgers and unappetising shite.
4. Craft Ale Truck, but silly prices.
Harrogate.
1. Wouldn’t let CUSA bus stop outside to unload disabled supporters. Shocking!
2. Half mile walk from bus park.
3. Decent pub near bus park.
4. Posh pies circa £10 (admittedly good, but too expensive).
5. Poor low down views.
Barrow.
1. It’s not the end of the world, but you can see it from there
2. Ghastly temporary marquee stand with obscured views.
3. Always raining.
4. Six hour return journey.
5. Decent welcome in nearby club, M & B Brew XI and M & B Mild (now brewed by Brains). | | | |

Harrogate, IMO England’s most overrated town.
I find it funny that Gammon flock to Bettys tea rooms for afternoon tea, the quintessential English experience, totally oblivious to the fact it was founded in 1919 by a Swiss entrepreneur and is still owned by his family. It’s as English as cuckoo clocks. They also own that most Swiss of beverages ‘Yorkshire Tea’ based in Harrogate. Of course you can’t miss the tea plantations as to travel through Yorkshire. My mistake, it’s blended in Yorkshire after someone else has done all the hard work. So it’s a bit like having a piece of Yorkshire moonrock.
As for their non-league football club that sullies the EFL, in addition to the points mentioned by Noah, their beverages annoy me. When I was there, the characterless hovel they pass off as a bar for away supporters, served tins of that Irish shite or lager that was so cold it burnt your tongue. Just to take the piss, the club was sponsored by the Black Sheep Brewery. Presumably you could get a half-decent pint in the home end. [Post edited 16 Mar 9:18]

Worst away days………..
Credit to West Ham, they have brought shite away games bang up to date, with a 21st Century abortion. Don’t forget your binoculars and if you want to hear the home supporters, it’s best you take an ear trumpet. Who in Gods name thought it was right to sell popcorn at football matches? …..and who thought it would be a good idea to paint the concourses black? It’s the most depressing dump in the Premiershite by a mile.
I know I’ve mentioned it before, but it really is bad. The funniest bit, even at a good game, is the home supporters pouring out on 80 mins as the stampede for the station begins. The best part of 50,000 people trying to get through a small bank of ticket barriers. It’s a titanic f@c# up of planning and you could say it’s a monument to modern Britain, but Spurts have shown how to do it properly and if they get relegated, and tickets get easier to come by, I would recommend anyone to have a day out there. To think Lincoln and possibly Stevenage could be playing there next year is mindboggling. | | | |

On FGR, I'm not too fussed about rat burgers and gristle pies not being on the menu, the vegan food that I've tried is actually quite good quality. I don't mind the Brew Dog fanzone either, and last time I was there they had a pretty good local band performing in the marquee. It's the complete lack of any sensible public transport connections that annoys me, not particularly 'green' if everyone has to drive to get there (CUSA coaches excepting). | |
