Following the latest excellent weekend win over the Cumbrians the U’s barely have time to draw breath before heading to Brisbane Road, in the shadow of the Olympic Stadium, to do battle with the O’s whilst their possible future FA Cup opponents Chelmsford City replay at East Thurrock this evening.
Tonight however is all about continuing to close the gap on the top six still further by securing all three points at Leyton Orient.
JD has wasted no time in bringing in defensive cover in the shape of 18 year old (turns 19 on 5 Nov) Archange Nkumu from Chelsea. The youngster can play across the back four and will afford vital cover with the injury still affecting Matt Heath.
Although both Brian Wilson (groin) and Sanchez Watt (knee) have travelled with the squad, they may both occupy the bench with a view to introducing them later in the proceedings.
Although John Joe O’Toole scored a couple of goals the other evening, he is not yet ready for the first team. Clinton Morrison will also miss out with his third game of his red card suspension tonight. Therefore JD is likely to play in the now familiar and very welcome 4-3-3 formation:

JD does not have to risk either Wilson or Watt and he has able deputies in White and Sears.

Orient has a decent home record but the U’s have momentum and a desire to climb up the league table. JD has quickly instilled desire, passion and a commitment to the cause. Long may it continue.

Haven't been this excited about an evening of football for a long time - surprising how giddy one gets about the possibility of an FA Cup draw away at Chelmsford, but it'll be a cracker if Chelmsford can pull it off tonight - and of course there is the minor matter of the U's at Orient to throw into the mix as well.
