Really poor performance. Lacking in ideas.

Why did he sub off the two best forward thinking players Leo and Tom
Why has Leo stopped trying to beating players and favouring a pass instead
The game plan, was not positive enough from the start We were content with possession with no end product

IMO that was Eckert's worst game in charge. Scienza best player, then subbed, Fellows then best player, subbed, Azaz finally woke up and started playing, subbed, then Archer comes on, was like Tonda was trying not to win this one.

Sadly, all those things that made us a decisive winning team a few games ago seem to have been lost in a torridcocktail of time consuming tip tap football and tediously slow build up that must make RM very happy. That plus some very poor performances with yet again a very poor coversion rate of opportunities into goals leads to mid table at best!!

Thankfully we're not going up this season otherwise we'd break Derby's (or wolves) record. I thought the issues were just at the back without lacking a CB with heading ability and a keeper that can position himself to save shots across the body. Need to add a strong ball keeping midfielder and a CF.
No doubt any players coming in will be wingers

Disappointing as this was supposedly the A team in the A formation.
Tonda needs to change things up.

How come other teams with, on paper, inferior squads can shoot accurately from outside of the box and all our attempts at a long shot are laughably poor and liable to bounce off of the nearest satellite or they resemble a back pass to the goalie?
Also if we carry on with this tippy-tappy bullshit we'll struggle to win another game. Fact.

If freeing up the players to do what they naturally do got us five wins a month ago, we need to follow up by restoring a more familiar formation as well. Ditch the 3-4-3 (at least for the time being) and return to the 4-4-2 please.

We also need an extra step on each play: Get on top of the ball when we shoot from distance, and challenge everything at the top of the box (on defense and offense)!

Will Still said in one of his last press conferences, two things:
1. Turning the club round was a big job, and would take time; and
2. Every time Saints made a mistake, the opposition scored.
In the first few games under Tonda we were definitely lucky the opposition didn't take their chances. I think we need to spend a couple of seasons in the Championship and re-build slowly and improve incrementally - we know that most of our players are not Premier League standard.
I wish everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year.
