For the second goal the Watford winger crossed the halfway line, Stephens was the closest defender to him, the winger ran with the ball, Stephens backed off. When the winger entered the penalty area Stephens suddenly woke up, but because he had retreated into a central position he was too far away to tackle. For those that would blame Mannings poor pass, that was on the halfway line, there was plenty of time for Stephens to make a tackle, .
