His systems didn't look much different from Cifuentes' or many other coaches who seem to think that every attack has to start from the goalkeeper and 5 or 6 passes inside their own penalty area.

Without a decent centre forward it will be nigh on impossible to build any decent attacking play from the back. Every time the ball went forward it inevitably came back in the form if another Cardiff attack.

Do that in the championship matches and QPR will be falling two goals down .....
.... so nothing new from last season.!!

No centre forward inevitably means the ball will not be held up when booted long.
Field is not a deep lying midfielder to receive a pass and then bring ur out.
The full backs do not look good enough to start in the Championship.

Maybe this is a ploy to let Nourry know that Stephan needs more new signings.

I doubt very much if Poku , Dembele Vale & Chair all start. Nardi will not start as first choice.
Cook will only start if other CBs are injured. Sutton be a bench player .

I am more concerned about this playing it out from the back malarkey.

It’s mostly a reserve team game.

I am glad I did not pay £5 to watch this .

Poku v Kelman (didn't dare put Kelman first)
at 08:27 23 Jul 2025

I am looking forward to seeing Kelman playing for QPR this season.

He had a lot of short appearances during his time at the club, but never given a run of games. He has since had a few loan spells and developed his game and physically too.

My only concern is his contractual situation (which is kept from us).

It will be good to see both him and Poku starting the opening match.

Agree with this.

England didn't play very well and will need to be better in the final against Spain or Germany. I think it will be a repeat of the World Cup final against Spain and maybe the same outcome, but well done to the lionesses for not giving up.

Good to see Chloe Kelly score the winner again. I thought she and Agyemang should have been brought on after 60 minutes.

RIP Ozzy Osborne.

Not a heavy metal fan, but happy for him and his family that he got to perform his last show in his home city.

He could be useful as cover or an alternative to Frey.

From those highlights he has strength, pace , can hold the ball up and can pick a teammate for a pass. Certainly an upgrade on Lloyd and Dykes before him.

Kosice seems like a good move for him and certainly an upgrade on Blackpool.
Good luck to him.

I get the sentiment, but the club needs the £10m+, so I wouldn't like to see him in Chelsea colours but needs come first.

Here's hoping Arsenal or Bayern get their act together sharpish.

Chair loves QPR and I hope to see him spend the rest if his career at the club.

He has an excellent work rate, and apart from last season, a good fitness record.

He can score and create chances, so I would like him to adopt a more central role to play as a No.10 or drop deeper to bring the ball out of midfield on a regular basis.

That could be a song to sing (with a slight change for penalty) for Celar if he actually produces his Swiss League form.

I agree, it wasn't a good penalty though. I thought the idea of the stutter was to send the keeper in one direction and then shoot the other way.

I didn't see the match, just the highlights, but a big improvement on last week, Dunne at right back was a big change.

As for those advocating not selecting Varane or Field, the Championship is a physical league and one of those two will be needed and in some games, both.

I still want to see another centre forward signed, because we know Frey is prone to injury.

I agree with the last paragraph. QPR need to select a strong starting line up against Toulouse to try and gauge a better idea of how this squad is likely to do in the Championship.

Last season’s pre season games showed that the squad lacked goals and so it proved in the league. A lack of goals today and next week’s friendlies will hopefully influence Stephan and the Board to buy a striker to add to Frey, Kelman and Kolli ( I don’t rate Celar and Lloyd looks L1 level at best).

My brother, in his mid 60s now, was a fan and I hear some of her songs when he played her album. Songs that stood out were Who’s sorry now and Lipstick on your collar.

RIP Connie Francis.

Not interested in watching after last week’s shambles.
I know it’s a friendly, but playing two different 11s for each half is terrible, especially given the lack of quality in the squad. Even worse, the injury list makes a reasonable 11 harder to select.

Toulouse are also better than Castellon , so I’ll wait until a fitter squad is available to choose from before watching any more preseason fixtures.

Marti to Leicester…maybe
at 10:16 16 Jul 2025

Given the lack of effort by many of the players in that game (as highlighted by that QPR ‘breakaway’ that saw no Teammate catch up with Dembele, yet most of the Burnley players got back), I would say morale was low.

MC’s days we’re looking numbered so no doubt his agents were looking elsewhere.

As for the compensation of £500,000 all I can say on that is that it is no where near high enough to have made such a fuss over. I thought it would have been at least double that.
How much did it cost the club to negotiate his departure?

Good luck to him at Leicester and the best of luck to Stephan with trying to keep this QPR squad out of the bottom 8.

If at least one more centre forward, LB and a CM are not signed another struggle is likely this season.
