Are Saints players worth their pay?
at 18:01 14 May 2021

The Times have shown a table giving expected points based on wage bills.
Top are Leicester who have already 12 points over wages expectation, no surprise.
Here's a sample;
wages points expected difference
Leic 157m 66 54 +12
Saints 114 40 45 -5
Arsenal 225 52 61 -9
Liverpool 326 60 67 -7
Sheff 79 17 37 -20

Saints need another 5 points to hit expected value. That'll be a win and 2 draws.
On this basis we are currently 13th, with Burnley and Newc. just above us.

BBC - time to make them subscription based?
at 16:48 15 Sep 2020

A casual glance at the BBC richest salaries shows a complete disregard for their pledge to cut costs. 15 to 30% increases are commonplace. The latest table also excludes incomes from BBC Studios, their commercial business so Doctor Who excluded. Half the top ten are radio presenters! Lineker has a new 5 year contract (why the heck) still the highest, though with a 20% pay cut. The new head honcho Tim Davie has got a big task ahead.

In my whole career I've never seen such increases other than for rare generous promotions up to seriously senior roles with extensive responsibilities.

Shame on the Beeb, no wonder people over 75 now have to pay for their licenses.

Here's my (pessimistic) predictions;

Arsenal (H) 1-2 Th 25th
Watford (A) 2-1 Sun 28th What do you think?

Idiots breaking lockdown

On beaches in recent weeks, today’s solidarity marches, picnics on Clapham Common, parties on Hawley Lake and so on. Recent death rates increasing even before these impacts are known. Don’t even think about blaming the politicians this Is individual crass stupidity at best. Why are people so dumb?

Emily Maitlis should be sacked- biased report on Cummings
at 18:48 27 May 2020

Guilty of breaching impartiality guidelines in item about Cummings on Tuesday's Newsnight. Disgusting that BBC allowed this especially from such a high earning individual(unelected). Polluting the airwaves with biased statements. Possibility of millions being misled. I'm looking forward to a immediate public apology and resignation.
Never been so shocked since my mum told me where babies came from!

HS2 hitting the buffers?

''HS2 'badly off course' with bosses 'blindsided', MPs say.''
Why do UK infrastructure projects always seem to be over budget and very late?
Heads would roll if this was a private venture.

Care homes
at 13:22 14 May 2020

Care homes felt "completely abandoned" as the coronavirus crisis swept across the UK, the National Care Association has said. BBC headline

Here's the question; care homes are 84% business-owned with huge profits so why is the government taking all the flak? Understand that the government is ultimately responsible for us all but why are the care businesses not sharing the criticism of lack of PPE, sudden death-rate increases etc?
